Psalm 121:1–2 NIV
I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Mountains are the obstacles, the things that make su weak, that mmake us stumble and fall.
They are not beuatiful,
they are insumountable,
On His way to Jersualm,
these are the things in the way.
where does my help come from
It’s not difficult to feel like we face mountains that make us feel small and insignificnat.
Covid restrictions,
Sin in our hearts,
Where does our help come from?
If there is no answer, then it’s the worst feeling we can have as humans.
But that is not us,
we are not on our own,
as we struggle to see a way forward,
as we look up to the mountian,
we see a helper,
and not just any maker - he made the mountains!
Isah 40 - takes them a weighs on his scales, - like he cooking!
And so we look beyond our insurmountable mountians,
we look beyond them to the one who made them.
The Lord, the mker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:3–8 NIV
He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Let us trust this God, this helper.
We are safe - for we know the maker of heaven and earth and he helps us.
