God brought Moses to a point in which he would come face to face with the faith that God was building in his life:
Exodus 2:11–12 KJV 1900
And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

The opportunity to choose

Hebrews 11:24 KJV 1900
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
God did bring this to Moses before he was ready
The situation was timed at the moment Moses was ready
Fly my solo - Dad waited for me to be ready

The support for righteousness

Hebrews 11:25 KJV 1900
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
God didn’t condone the killing of the Egyptian, but He does support the choice to stand for right
Moses could’ve turned a blind eye to the scene before him
Moses was living a comfortable life in the kings house
His future was certain if he would not get involved
His heart burned - he could not stand idly by and let a person be abuse cruelly
This should be the case no matter what colour skin they have! Abuse is wrong no matter what culture or ethnicity it is coming from!
God would expose the murder committed by Moses, but He used it to help grow Moses’ faith
God would provide for Moses as he fled from Egyptian rule and threat
God blessed the choice to stand for right!
It was not an easy stand, he lost everything, but he gained more
Through this circumstance God would call Moses from the backside of the desert through a burning bush

The reproach of Christ

Hebrews 11:26 KJV 1900
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
When one identifies with faith in Christ, often reproach follows
Reproach - insult n. — a rude communication that belittles or offends somebody or something unjustly.
When one takes a stand for Christ, often a part of this is reproach from the world:
The world sees this as rejecting all the material things that matter so much to so many
Moses saw this as fleeting riches that will not last
Proverbs 23:5 KJV 1900
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
High school - preaching the Gospel - bringing my Bible to school
Moses came face to face with the values of this world, rejected what this world holds so dear, and said I know there’s a better way!
This way is with God as my Saviour and Friend! He rejected relationships with riches, power, and prestige with the world to become a child of God Who created the riches and set in place the powers of the world!
