Where Are You?

A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone (probably in the shower) was at home but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10."

Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."

God’s famous question to Adam and Eve is the subject of my sermon today. Where are you?

Where are you Adam and Eve?

1. Conviction Happens in God’s Presence

2. Acknowedge where you are

3. Move toward where you aught to be

If not you will be left in a limbo area away from God’s best.

Where is your brother Cain?

1. God will Find You

2. Acknowledge the nature of your relationships

3. Repair and Enhance your relationships

If you don’t do this you will be confined as Cain to the Land of Nod -NOD — exile; wandering; unrest, a name given to the country to which Cain fled (Gen.4:16). It lay on the east of Eden.
