The resurrection of the Christ and the believer is so very vital that to dismiss it is to overturn the Gospel and to destroy the church. Motives and morals are intrinsically related to the hope one has for a future. If there is no future, then there is no hope and if that is the case, the apostle says eat, drink and be merry which is what happens when one has no future and no hope. Such a position is poison to a person and their hope for redemption.
