I. Instructions as To Treatment of our Enemies

A. Christ gives us three ways to demonstrate his love:

1. bless those who curse you

2. do good to these who hate us

3. pray for those who use us

B. We need to ask ourselves, ”have I done anything to cause this? Have I cheated or offended them in any way?”

II. How Do I Treat Political Enemies

2. To love our enemies is to assist them to be successful as long as it doesn’t violate scripture.

A. Bless – Eulogeo – (eulogy) – a discourse of praise on the positive qualities of the person

1. This isn’t excusing the evil the person has done, it is looking past that to their good qualities.

2. Rom. 2:4 – blessings can be a way of bringing them to repentance

B. Praying for our enemies

1. We are in a spiritual battle

2. We should pray that God will rebuke the powers that are controlling them

A. This is our most difficult group of enemies, those who have committed themselves against God’s word and won’t be changed.

1.If anything will change them it is God’s people showing love

2. Life of Paul is an example of how God is able to turn aroung a heart.
