Beatitudes 3

Matthew 5:8-9KJV

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Beatitudes: Tonight we are going to hear about two more groups of people that receive blessings from Christ.

1.    Verse 8 blessed are the Pure in Heart!

a.       Pure in heart means a clean heart through and through.

Psalm 24:3-5KJV

3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

b.       Pure in more things than just their mind the ones with and impure heart think they are okay!

Titus 1:15KJV

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

c.           They shall be called the children of God!

Revelation 22:4-5KJV

4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

2.    Verse 9 Blessed are the Peacemakers

a.       A peacemaker is more than just a peaceful person they MAKE peace where there is none

Proverbs 16:7KJV

7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

b.       A peacemaker allows only peace to come from them even when there is envy strife and evil all around. Righteousness comes from them!

James 3:16-18KJV

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

c.        A peacemaker does all things without gossip, anger, etc

Philippians 2:14-15KJV

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

3.    Am I blessed?
