Introduction
In Systematic Theology the study of the Father is called "Theology Proper." Theology Proper is the attempt to put into words our finite understanding of the infinite Godhead. It is impossible for us to "get it right." The Christian life is a continuous journey out of idolatry. That is, since we will not understand Him until we see Him face to face, we have to continually discipline ourselves to learn who He is. We do this so we can worship Him.
