The King Prepares to Die John 12:27-43 -The King was troubled (27a) Luke 22:39-46 Jeremiah 25:15 - 15For thus the Lord, the God of Israel, says to me, "Take this cup of the wine of wrath from My hand and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it. (cf. Isaiah 51:7; Ezekiel 23:31-34; Habakkuk 2:16) -The King was determined (27b-36) Hebrews 2:14-15 - 14...that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. -The King was both rejected and received (37-43) Isaiah 6:1-7 Those who believe in Jesus walk in the Light. There is no suffering we endure that Jesus cannot relate to. Following Jesus is not easy. We must never forget the anguish Jesus endured on the cross when He took the Father's wrath against our sin upon Himself.
