In March of 2000 there was an horror filmed released that began a franchise by the name of Final Destination. This filmed showed the plight of several young people who had escaped death and one by one they met their doom. With each movie the individuals who had cheated death would face death all over again with the final synopsis being that no one can escape death. We must all recognize that one day we will all arrive at our final destination. The choice that we make concerning our relationship with God will determine our eternal location.
Where will you be when you get where you are going?
What prevented them from finding the restoration of Yahweh?

I. A Contempt of the Common Things. v.4

It is the neglect of the little things that will bring down the mighty.
Unamuno, the Spanish philosopher, tells about the Roman aqueduct at Segovia, in his native Spain. It was built in 109 A.D. For eighteen hundred years, it carried cool water from the mountains to the hot and thirsty city. Nearly sixty generations of men drank from its flow.
Then came another generation, a recent one, who said, "This aqueduct is so great a marvel that it ought to be preserved for our children, as a museum piece. We shall relieve it of its centuries-long labor." They did; they laid modern iron pipes. They gave the ancient bricks and mortar a reverent rest. And the aqueduct began to fall apart. The sun beating on the dry mortar caused it to crumble. The bricks and stone sagged and threatened to fall. What ages of service could not destroy idleness  disintegrated.

A. They have a tendency to become monotonous.

Because of the continual demand and upkeep we become slothful.

B. Our measure of value is faulty .

We tend to place a higher value on the loftier things ion life. This can lead to a depreciation of the simpler things.

II. A Crisis of Conscience. v.2,3

1 Timothy 4:1–2 (ESV) 4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,

A. Complacency

Their should be a continual fear, in the heart of the believer, that if we entertain sin long enough, we will learn to accept it.
This is evident in our society, things that were unthinkable just one generation ago is now embraced.

B. Contentment

With time we will eventually become so filled with an ungodly lifestyle that we will come to a point where sin is now pleasurable.

III. A Creeping Corruption. v.9

Corruption, like age, sneaks up on us.

A. It will rob us of our strength.

B. It will rob us of our time.

IV. A Christ that Conquers. v.12,13

Matthew 10:28 (ESV) 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

A. He will conquer all who turn against Him.

B. He will give us His victory.

Matthew 10:28 (ESV)
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
1 John 5:4 (ESV)
4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

V. A Christ that Converts.

A. Christ desire to Restore us. v.1

The work of Christ is to restore the broken fellowship of Eden.

B. Christ will Redeem us. v.13

a. If we call upon Him. v.14

Romans 10:9-13 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

b. We must repent. v.16

Acts 3:18 (ESV)
18 But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,
