One of the most interesting challenges that we face as a community is to learn how to go from

Acts 3:1-26

gate of the temple … called Beautiful. A large and ornate gate inside the temple mount on the eastern side, separating the Court of the Gentiles from the Court of the Women.

  • Beggars considered the temple the best site to operate because the daily throngs came to impress God with their pious good works, including offerings at the temple treasury.

The Gospel

  • Simplified – Acts 2:22-24
  • Applied – Acts 3:11-26

The preaching of Gospel is meant to make people whole v. 16

  • In Jesus, the wholeness and strength of the presence of God can be found.
    • In a word: The shalom is found in Jesus

Shalom – Peace

  • We think of peace as the absence of conflict
  • The Jews think of it as the presence of the goodness of God
    • It’s the presence of wholeness or completeness

Luke 8:43-48

  • Numbers 15:37-40  The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout their generations they are to make tassels  for the corners of their garments, and put a blue cord on the tassel at ⌊each⌋ corner. These will serve as tassels for you to look at, so that you may remember all the Lord’s commands and obey them and not become unfaithful by following your own heart and your own eyes. This way you will remember and obey all My commands and be holy to your God.
  • Mal 4:2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings,
