Crises wait for us.

Like all the groups we talked about two weeks, they had crises that awaited them.
We are going to go over three types of crises

Acute Trouble

All of us will confront this type of trouble at some point in our lives.
When we meet this type of trouble, if a Christian is unprepared, they will collapse under it.
Is it the trouble that brings the collapse?
Yes and no.
Yes - the collapse wouldn’t have happened without the trouble arising.
No - if the person had been preparing for the trouble, they would’ve been strong enough to endure it.
His strength is small because his prayers for few and lean.
The man whose prayers are many and strong won’t collapse under the pressure of the trouble.

Temptation

The type that is unexpected and subtle.
Anticipatory prayer will prepare us for these.
Was it the day David was on the rooftop that he fell into temptation?
Historians will tell you there is a large gap between where this incident happens and David falls into temptation where we hear nothing from him in scripture.
David had fallen from God during this time and was susceptible to the temptation that Satan was bringing his way.
Temptation can’t hurt you if you pray against it and try to anticipate what Satan might throw at you.

Satan’s Attacks

His attacks will come at odd times and are hard to anticipate.
Why?
He is way to shrewd to become predictable.
He will not establish a pattern in the way and time that he will attack you.
If this were so, we would have been onto his game a long time ago.
Baseball pitcher.
Fighter/boxer.
Satan will also leave you alone for a while so he can catch you with your guard down.
The only way to win against Satan and to fight him off consistently is to stay vigilant.
Have a daily time you spend in His Word.
Have a daily time you spend in prayer.
Always let your first response be to turn to the Lord, no matter the circumstance.
Recommendations
Always stay on guard.
If Satan has left you alone for a while, don’t think he’s done with you.
Never be overconfident.
The moment you rest in this, Satan is going to through everything he can at you. This will cause you to loose faith because of the place you put yourself.
Never underestimate the power of prayer.
This is one of the strongest weapons we have against Satan.
When things are going well, let’s pray in anticipation for the attack that Satan is getting ready for us. He is going to attack us. We need to prep ourselves with the strength He has given us through Him.
