PARABLES OF THE KINGDOM - The Kingdom to Come. 10 Bridesmaids Matthew 25:1-13 In the Text: To what did Jesus compare the kingdom of heaven in this parable? (25:1) Why do you think HE used this comparison again? Why were some of the virgins described as "foolish"? (25:3) What made some of the girls "wise"? (25:4) What did the foolish girls ask of the others? (25:8) Why were the wise girls not being 'mean'? (25:9) From what we know of the return of the LORD, what pictures and parallels can we see in the Parable here? With what warning did Jesus conclude this parable? Why? (25:13) Get It: In what ways do people count on more mature Christians or try to ride their coattails? What responsibility does each Christian have before God in the light of the parable? See 1 Timothy 4:7-8 Why is continual preparation for Christ's return better than "last minute cramming"? See Jude 1:17-23 What are the possible consequences of putting off thinking about Christ and spiritual growth until later? Apply It: What 'Christian' should you lovingly warn about the imminent return of Christ? What spiritual preparation do you need to make today in order to "keep watch"? How can you change your attitude this week in order to reflect your belief in the imminent return of Christ? [Why is it a positive & happy thing to get ready to meet JESUS?! 1 Peter 1:3-4] O the King is coming The King is coming I just heard the trumpets sounding And now His face I see O the King is coming The King is coming Praise God He's coming for me.
