Anointing Breaks The Yoke

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; 2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

What is anointing?

It literally means to be smeared with oil or a substance

Ecclesiastes 9:8 NASB95

8 Let your clothes be white all the time, and let not oil be lacking on your head.

We talk about the oil of the Holy Spirit

David was anointed by God to kill the giant and lead the twelve tribes of Israel to become a strong and Godly nation.

1 Samuel 17:40 NASB95

Moses was anointed by God part the Red Sea and lead the children of Israel out bondage in Egypt and into the promise land.

Jesus was anointed by The Father to go to the cross and conquer death and give us eternal life.
