Luke 9:57–62 NASB
57 As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.” 58 And Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” 59 And He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” 60 But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.” 61 Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home.” 62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
1 Timothy 2:1–6 NASB
1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

Christ-Centered - What is a Multiplier?

I’d like to set the stage this week, by reviewing a little of last week:
If you recall, just belief in Christ doesn’t satisfy our calling. Declaring emphatically that Jesus is the Christ doesn’t satisfy our calling. Being influenced by satanic precepts demonstrates that Peter hasn’t yet taken up his cross to follow Jesus … and THAT is our calling.
Jesus’ statement in Luke 9 defines taking up your cross in two parts, and it’s a high calling, a very difficult calling.
Last week I said that ‘Allow the dead to bury their own dead’ means, we should let this world’s issues manage themselves. That you don’t need to spend your life defending or proclaiming your candidate, your lifestyle, your choices, your opinions.
Today, let me pick up there, and deal with the second half of that statement, ‘go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.’ That’s the task of a Christian disciple. When I think of all of the red-faced arguments I’ve had about things that don’t matter to the kingdom, it breaks my heart that God’s heart is broken by my selfish, sinful choices.
We’ve been taught wrongly. We’ve been told that Christianity is a decision we make, and it impacts our life when we choose to let it. While it’s true that we have choice, it is not what Christianity truly is. If you’re still making all of your decisions, you haven’t submitted to Jesus. You’re still burying the dead. What this world needs is not your opinion, your preference, your lifestyle, your candidate. What this world needs is Jesus … and not a dumbed-down version of him. This radical Jesus tells us to eschew everything we hold dear, and we’re satisfied with a small sacrifice that hurts a little, but doesn’t help anyone else find Jesus.
Ephesians 4:14–15 NASB
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
How many of us are upset at the reproduction rate in certain parts of our population? The fix to that isn’t government regulation, or government apathy. The fix to that problem is developing a reproduction rate of our own. Pure Christianity will change lives. Pure Christianity will change us. Pure Christianity will change our community. Pure Christianity will change the world.Charles Spurgeon said: “Every Christian here is either a missionary or an impostor. Recollect that you are either trying to spread abroad the kingdom of Christ, or else you do not love him at all.”A missionary is overjoyed with one convert … one soul rescued from sin and death. But a missionary, like Jesus, isn’t satisfied with one.We began this series with John 3:16
John 3:16 NASB16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved THE WORLD!"go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:70“Go and make disciples of all men...” Matthew 28:19“…
