They Demonstrated Genuine Life Change

Genuine life change shows itself to be true the day after
Jail House Religion
Conversion is seen in consistency
1 John 2:19 NASB95
They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.
The people here on the day after the significant move of God showed that God was truly working in their lives.
Jesus spoke of seeds that sprouted but were eaten by the birds, choked by the weeds or burned by the heat.
Genuine life change results in a long obedience in the same direction.

They Realized the Word Speaks to Now

The people recognized that the Word of God was speaking to their moment in time.
God’s Word is always relevant.
No matter what you are facing, God’s Word has the truth to bring you through it for His Glory

The Saw that Obedience was an Act of Celebration and Worship

Obedience for the sake of obedience leads to dry ritualistic worship.
Obedience that grows from the realization that living according to God’s commands is more desirable than living by ours leads to celebration and worship
Luke 15:7 NASB95
“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:10 NASB95
“In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
The Story of the Prodigal Son that follows these verses is really the story of the faithful Father and His desire for His Son to return.
