Acts 1:1-3 (NKJV) Prologue 1 The former account I made, O aTheophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 buntil the day in which 1He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit chad given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 dto whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many 2infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.1 Romans 8:1-6 (NKJV) Free from Indwelling Sin 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, awho 1do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For bthe law of cthe Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from dthe law of sin and death. 3 For ewhat the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, fGod did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who gdo not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For hthose who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, ithe things of the Spirit. 6 For jto be 2carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 2 Revelation 13:16-18 (NKJV) 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, ato receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has 7the mark or bthe name of the beast, cor the number of his name. 18 dHere is wisdom. Let him who has eunderstanding calculate fthe number of the beast, gfor it is the number of a man: His number is 666.3 Luke 12:22-32 (NKJV) Seek the Kingdom of God Matt. 6:25-33 22 Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, udo not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and vGod feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why 4are you anxious for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even wSolomon in all his glory was not 5arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of xlittle faith? 29 "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father yknows that you need these things. 31 zBut seek 6the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 "Do not fear, little flock, for ait is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 4 Acts 1:4-8 (NKJV) The Holy Spirit Promised 4 eAnd being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have fheard from Me; 5 gfor John truly baptized with water, hbut you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" 7 And He said to them, i"It is not for you to jknow times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 kBut you shall receive power lwhen the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and myou shall be 3witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and nSamaria, and to the oend of the earth."5 Revelation 12:9-11 (NKJV) 9 So nthe great dragon was cast out, othat serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, pwho deceives the whole world; qhe was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, r"Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, swho accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And tthey overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, uand they did not love their lives to the death. 6 a Luke 1:3 b Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9, 11, 22 1 He ascended into heaven. c Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:15; John 20:21; Acts 10:42 d Matt. 28:17; Mark 16:12, 14; Luke 24:34, 36; John 20:19, 26; 21:1, 14; 1 Cor. 15:5-7 2 unmistakable 1 The New King James Version.
