Paul begins the last chapter of Galatians by telling “[those] who are spiritual” how they should be living. Today’s stereotype of “spiritual people” has more to do with piety, judgmentalism, and maybe even hypocrisy. But Paul calls those of us who have the indwelling Spirit to the highest standard of all image bearers. Contrary to the misleading practice of the Galatian legalists, true spirituality looks more like selfless surrender toward others and self-examination of our own hearts.
