Today we will not just finish this section, but we will complete chapter 12— tomorrow we will begin with the remaining 9 chapters of this gospel

BOOK

John 12:44–50 NIV
44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. 45 The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. 47 “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

LOOK

WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ME ONLY
Belief in Jesus is belief in God the Father— MATTHEW 10:40
Peter also weighed in and this is what he said— 1 PETER 1:21
NO ONE WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHOULD STAY IN DARKNESS
The intellectual decision begins a relationship with Jesus, but entering into a relationship with Him through that initial beliefs is only the beginning of the faith journey— Like husband and wife
If you “truly” repented and put your faith in Jesus you will not deliberately keep on sinning— HEBREWS 10:26
I DID NOT COME TO JUDGE THE WORLD, BUT TO SAVE THE WORLD
How does this contradicts with ACTS 17:31?
It does not contradict— what Jesus meant was, that was not the time for him to judge but to save, there’s another appointed time when He will judge
As your assignment— Read MATTHEW 25:31-46
THE VERY WORDS I HAVE SPOKEN WILL CONDEMN THEM AT THE LAST DAY
That clarified what Jesus stated earlier— his first coming is not to judge but to save— the last day [second coming] is when he will be the judge
The one who rejects will be condemned [sentenced, punish, denounced]
HIS COMMANDS LEADS TO ETERNAL LIFE
On the other hand, those who believe in Him, and walk in the light of His commands will inherit eternal life— JOHN 3:16

TOOK

JESUS CAME TO SAVE THE WORLD, HE WILL RETURN TO JUDGE IT
I WILL FAITHFULLY WALK IN THE LIGHT OF HIS COMMANDS
