The World is Out to Get You!

Jude 17–23 MEV
17 But, beloved, remember the words that were previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the men who cause divisions, sensual, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God while you are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, which leads to eternal life. 22 On some have compassion, using discernment. 23 And others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
Jude is telling us that we need to remember what the original gospel was so that we do not become deceived.
There are false witnesses out there that will confuse you with their close-but-not theology.
We must know what the Word says in order to know what the truth is.
There are many out there that claim to be spiritual, but are in the wrong spirit.
We must seek after the gift of discernment so that we can know who is telling the truth and who is allow the enemy to use them.
How do we avoid the enemy at all cost?

The Enemy Wants to Deceive You!

Understand that enemy is out to kill, steal, and destroy you.
Know who the enemy is.
Realize that you MUST have the power of the Christ to overcome the enemy.
John 10:10 MEV
10 The thief does not come, except to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
There is no doubt that the enemy wants to take you out, so he will use every tactic that he has to discourage us from the will of God.
But read the last part of that verse that is vital in this battle.
Jesus cam so that we might have life and have it more abundantly!
Ephesians 6:12 MEV
12 For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
The enemy is not who you see everyday!
The enemy is the one that you can not see, but will cause you more strife, if you let him, than anyone else.
The enemy will cause you to hear and see things that are not there in order to make you believe that someone is trying to do you wrong!
This is the deception of the enemy that he has used for centuries upon centuries.
When will we realize that the enemy has not changed his tactics, yet we still fall for the same stumbling blocks over and over again!
Ephesians 3:20–21 MEV
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
We have the power of Christ within us to defeat the enemy everyday.
We need to intentionally get up in the morning to defeat the enemy, before we even brush our teeth!
The power of Christ in you has already defeated him, we just have to walk in it!
Do not let the enemy win!
1 John 4:4 MEV
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We Must Protect Our Faith: Build Yourself Up in Holy Faith!

Acts 2:42–43 MEV
42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers. 43 Fear came to every soul. And many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
We must continually stay in the Word and fellowship together.
This is how we build our faith by listening to what God has done for others and telling what God has done for us.
We must diligently study the Word.
Diligently: conscientiously studying the word of God.
This does not just happen, and if you wait til you have time, you won’t!
Relying on the Holy Spirit to inspire, guide, energize, sustain, and help us pray.
Romans 8:26 MEV
26 Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
The Holy Spirit give us the helps that we need in the battles that we go through.
The Holy Spirit helps us to battle more effectively.
When you do not know how to pray, the Holy Spirit prays for you.
1 John 5:3 MEV
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
If we keep the commandments of Christ, then we are being influenced by Love of Christ.
When we are faithful in obedience to Christ then we will remain under the care and influence of Christ.
Are you looking for the return of Christ?
Titus 2:13 MEV
13 as we await the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
The waiting in this verse is not sitting around with our heads looking up all the time, but it is working diligently while we wait for the soon return of Jesus!
Are you ready to go?!
When we have the enemy come at us during tough times in our lives, we should be ready already for what the enemy has to throw at us.
Ephesians 6:11 MEV
11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
If you have your armor on, you CAN stand against the enemy when he comes at you!
