One Blood
Acts 17:26
Reasons to reject racism
We have the same father.
Genetically, we all go back to Adam and Eve. (Really we can go further up to Noah and his wife.)
There is one race, the human race.
Genesis 1:26-27
Acts 17:26
Perhaps one effect of evolution’s influence is that people subconciously believe/assume that some races are better than others.
People who believed in and acted on their belief in evolution:
Adolf Hitler
Josef Stalin
Margaret Sanger
Evolution is antithetical to God’s Word, reality, and the dignity of all people.
Racism makes sense in an evolutionary worldview. But that worldview is false, because the Bible is true. We are all one blood.
We share the same image.
Genesis 1:26
This is what separates us from the animal kingdom.
We can grieve over an animal, but not like we do a person.
A “person” is a human; we don’t speak of animals having personhood.
This is why abortion is a moral evil.
This is why racism is a moral evil.
Every person is made in the image of God.
We share the same nature.
“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Every person is fallen and sinful.
No one is better than any other.
We have the same Savior.
“[All] are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).
“As one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men” (Romans 5:18).
“For there is no distinction between Jew & Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all...For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’” (Romans 10:12-13).
“Jesus paid it all” for us all.
