Kind of like to spread things out sometimes and and the Bible says that all scripture is profitable and sometimes we get caught in Roots and different thing right now. We're getting to I'm getting to preach 3 Services a week and two of them are with New Testament Church letters and so I can I wanted to go to the Old Testament in of hadn't done profits in a long time and got to look at her back and looking at some other ones then and then I started reading through Daniel again and that I want to start with Daniel on Sunday night and it's going to become obvious as we look at Daniel but the Book of Daniel is is a book that has a very special place in my life. As a matter of fact Dash sitting here on the second Pew was actually Michael we had decided before lease ever got pregnant if we would have a boy. We would name a Michael at all through the pregnancy. We said we was I have a Michael and all of a sudden when he is born and we're sitting there at the hospital and we're just reading the Bible and and we come back to the story of Daniel and we both look at each other and said we going to call him Daniel and he's been annual ever since then the go kind of went out of the way, but Daniel was such a great man of God and he had a great commitment. He had a great conviction. He had great character. And of course they won that God would be used. And a Great and Mighty way for his work at and for Hillman and you know, really there's probably sell them history a greater time than right. Now that we need a hero it's hard to find Heroes anymore. I know back even in the eighties and stuff. You would have the movies that would come out with with Superman and Batman, but if you watch here lately a lot of the new road, they're gay or lesbian or are or some wrapped up in the world and seeing and and really this hard to find any Heroes. It's hard to find anybody to look up to but Daniel is 1 young men that I believe that that we as people today can grab a hold of and look up to as a hero than a time today in Morality. We adjusted the oppression. We see greed be this be Play doubt in Oaks in all areas of life today and and Daniel was born into that environment was born into the environment of Lolly nut. Los Fresnos of violence. There was very little justice of righteousness on the earth profits have been prophesying for nearly two hundred years that if Israel did not repeat Judah did not repent if they would be taken into captivity and and all of this finally came to pass all of this finally came to fruition and and yet we see Daniel standing strong in the Lord even in the face of death. We see the ascent and really I've been titled tonight in the first versus are actually we're going to kind of pick up first date but really not open to deal with that until next week when we pick up first aid and really Fromage but it I want to look at face and compromise and I believe we are standing in a day and time to where we are facing compromise. We're faced with the idea that we have to make choice and we have to make decisions. I got on Facebook this afternoon and there was about five different post from five different preachers in the American Baptist Association from Texas from Florida from these hot States and everything where the governments are now rolling back what they've already open and what they did and asking for advice and asking what other churches are doing it and everything else in and when we look at compromised I like to I like to make sure when we talked about words that you know what I mean, and what what I mean so that we're on the same page. Actions of stuff nowadays are so when I use the word compromise does a settlement of differences Mutual concessions. When you compromise agreement reached adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims principles Etc supracal modification of demand. So basically just kind of summarize it compromises such a seller settlement where we begin to meet kind of in the middle. We find a happy medium that's there in an in our day expecially with this covid-19 has and everything else. We're finding ourselves compromising and I'm not going to give up the preaching in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we will try to work with are we will try to be safe with will try to do everything within our means to to make a safe environment do the best that we can but we have to find a medium in so Give and take we can't be safe. Well separation of the church and state and so we're just not going to do anything except what we want to do and be Reckless and be careless. We we've still got to go under blinds are some different things. But but often times Life as we see is filled with compromises a single day you unpromising one of the biggest things in my free an older teacher asked me one time and it's never got out of my mind. This is a made the statement doni at And me and I have found that a lot of my minutes left on compromised because a lot of it is not worth throwing down the gauntlet in and refused and everything and we seen that again the New Testament at Peter looking at Philippians, even a month suffering in a month persecution wasn't told to write up that wasn't told what they were told to try to find a way to work try to find a way to live still look for ways to minister as we looked this morning to love other people. There are the things that you and I can still do is Jen and still fit into society and still go about with our everyday life and do what we need to do in our catch tonight find such men that were faced in this they come in this time of decision in their lives and they could either compromise and they could just go along with the flow. The ground and live for the Lord and it's need to kind of watch how it all plays out and as I've been reading and looking back at Daniel that and remind it in looking and kind of comparing it to order the time and what's going on with worldly people and even Christian people. Where are we to fit in? How are we to respond? What are we to do and so Daniel? I feel like it's a very appropriate the passage of scripture to be looking at at this time. And in these times of compromise are going to come we're in I'm right now.

Have to either decide to go with God despite the calls or we will choose to compromise and flea everything and in Jesus Christ, there's a difference between compromising to fulfill what you do and compromising to get away from what you're supposed to do a man. And so make sure we don't get compromised confused there in that. It's going to be looking at two different angles of this compromise expecially tonight. And so I want us to look at how do we have Concrete in these compromises what to do when we are faced with compromised in my prayer is that we can glean street that we need to always make our stand for the Lord and sew in Daniel chapter 1 and begins with writing and he says if the third year of the reign of jehoiakim king of Judah game Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon under Jerusalem and besieged it and the Lord jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand with part of the vessels of the house of God, which he carried into the land of shinar to the house of his God and he brought the vessels into the Treasure House service God and the King Spike under Aspen is the master of is UNIX that he should bring certain of the children of Israel and the King seed and of the prince's children and whom was no blemish, but will favored and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding signs and such as had the ability in them to stand in the king's Palace and who they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans and the King appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat and of the wine which he drank so nourishing them three years that at the end thereof, they might stand before the king now among these were of the children of Judah Danna Daniel hananiah mishael and Azariah and unto whom the prince of the eunuchs Good names for he gave unto Daniel the name belteshazzar to hananiah of Shadrach to Michele of Michigan to Azariah of Abednego, but Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat nor with the wine, which he drank therefore. He requested of the prince of the units that he might not defile himself during his father we come to you and we ask you to bless the reading of this passage tonight during the father help us to look at the courageousness in the character of Daniel and his friends and they're my father just help us to realize even today as we Face compromise it and we Face persecution and suffering that we two can stand for you and that you will provide and you will see us through if it will take to put you first your kingdom in your righteousness and all these other things will be added and taken care of theirselves in your most precious name. We pray. Amen if we look at the ascent in Daniel didn't notice there in the very first couple of verses that we have inverse to I kind of underlined it in my Bible and it kind of just jumped out as I I was reading there. It says in the lord gave jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand. What cause Judah to go into captivity.

God God God brought it about I've said since every every bit since 9/11 back in 2001 that God has given America chance and opportunity to repent and return back and I believe we're seeing the end of this result of if we want bow and we won't turn back to repent and humble ourselves. Then God's going to turn us over and I really think that we are facing that in our society and in our life right now and and we see that he delivered King jehoiakim into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar now actually never condenser invaded Jerusalem three times. It's amazing when you study history three times, but yet only this time did God deliver them the first two times God did not deliver Judah in the Nebuchadnezzar, but he kept coming back. He kept staying after it until finally the Lord you see when God's protecting us. I want to protect us and that's why when we see things happening in our world. We have to understand that neither. One of two things is happening either. It is God's Will and there's nothing that we can do about it are we're out of God's Will and we need to repent and make things right when things are not happening right in our life. There's only one or two solutions. Neither either. We are living as joke did Joe when his friend said you need to curse God and die jokes that I have done nothing wrong. I have a curse God. I have not done anything against God. I have not left God. I'm not forsaking God I've stayed there so it's not about me. It's not because of seeing in my life or anyting and Jobe hung true to that but I believe it had seeing his stuff in his life. I believe the second option would have been his that Joe would have repented that was there and so both of these things have to be to either one of the other it can't be both and so we need to that's why Paul said examine yourself to see whether or not you are. The faith and so when we look at this week, we see that the Israel judah's matter-of-fact Israel had already been led into captivity previously Judah actually had a couple of good King and therefore they were spared several hundred years before they actually were brought into captivity. But when Nebuchadnezzar would come in or another blonde would come in they would repent they would semi change until the pressure gets off. And then what would happen then we go right back into their normal deal. They would have a good king for a minute and they would rally and they would have revivals and then before long they would have a king that did no new God they were right back into the same path is roller coaster of service up and down back and forth, which really is what we have seen America in for the last quite some time. Now, we look at this. But yet now the day you'd come when the people were Beyond repentance no matter how much compared. Russian the Lord showed no matter how many appeals he may do them. Justice had to be executed owns had to be dealt with of judgment to fall head now arrived in scripture tells us that this particular Invasion and capture of Jerusalem was in 6:05 BC Nebuchadnezzar get two things first. He deported jehoiachin inverse to another scripture in teams tells us that he also deported 10,000 but which included the commanders of Jehovah welcomes Army Business Leaders skilled Craftsmen politician, priest all of these individuals these leaders who might stir up an uprising in Babylon. He brings all of these leaders. Was respected and admired out that's in 2nd Corinthians chapter 24, if you want to go and look that up and remember now Daniel and his three fins was a part of this group. They were apart of these least. He's be smart these hire people the ones that was a to the court and the warship. That was there. This Nebuchadnezzar did was that he plundered the Temple of all of its sacred articles. If you go back and you study 100 years earlier King Hezekiah had shown several ambassadors from Babylon. He took them into the the holy place and show them all of their than worship. All of the stuff that God had warned them was not a very good idea and so Babylon New that inside of that humble looking Tabernacle at Temple that they had was all of this gold and all of the silver and all of these riches. So guess what when they go in and get the leaders they get all of that will fall of that item of worship and stuff and they bring it out and later. It'll be shown in the Book of Daniel that king belshazzar would desecrate the sacred cups and the utensils by using them in an emerald and drunk and fees that he's going to hold for his Noble in concubines. And so we'll see that in Daniel chapter 5, but note this tonight. Daniel says that Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem in the third year of King. Jehoiakim comes rain that was there. And so that gives us the timeline that gives us where we are at in his history. Never knez her adopted the very wise policy of prepared to serve in his government and to help manage his vast Empire, which is a very wise thing if you can get the that they did leaders and stuff. On your side and get them to think like you everybody else will follow and and we see that all over how that is, even in our government. If you can get the leaders on board the businesses on board and guess what you can control everything else that is there. And so neberkenezer. This is not a new tack. This is been around for a long time. Even back here some Nebuchadnezzar establish this program that really include four major things that he did and I want us to notice these four things because I think that we can learn from the use and we can use these to watch our self and we can make sure that we all into this compromise notice what he does there in verse 3 Starburst to it says in the lord gave jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand with part of the vessels of the house of God, which he carried in the land of shinar to the house of his God and he brought the vessels into the treasure. Cost of his God and the King Spike under Aspen has the master of is UNIX that he should bring certain of the children of Israel and of the king seed and of the prince's children and whom was no blemish but well-favored skillful in all wisdom cleaning knowledge and understanding science and such had the ability and them to stand in the king's Palace and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldean notice the first step for my eyes a new home notice what happened these boys have been brought up in and around Jerusalem. They've seen the leadership of Jerusalem. They've seen the worship of Jerusalem. They knew about the one true they knew all of the ins and outs the inside of politics and and religious areas of Jerusalem. They be understood all the movie if they were highly trained. Highly Educated they knew the teachings of the priest in describes a new the prop profits that had preached in the messages that had been delivered about God in Jerusalem that I knew all of this and now they've been hauled off to Babylon they were surrounded by Heathen worship. They were surrounded by Heathen images and I were surrounded by Heathen people. They were taking out of the city of God and they were placed in the world with all of its Glamour and all of its Glory. We know Babylon represents evil and wickedness. We see it all the way through the Bible when you hear about Babylon, it's never a good thing Babylon is not some place that you want to be and stay that basically what happens in this new home separated from all of their God influence and Heritage. And that's what's so scary. The first thing that you do if you want to try to convert a young generation is do what get them out of their family and get them out of culture. I've been preached since I've been here at Kentucky. Not only about our heritage is a church and where we have come from and and what's happened down through the but also our heritage is a nation with the 4th of July coming up we've talked about it or you'll day Independence Day. We talked about it on Labor Day the fact of all of the lives in the things that men and women have done in order to allow us to have the freedom because our young people need to know where we came from and how we got here and but the easy thing to do is to separate them, I noticed in the news just as they are there begging and working the truck to get more and more young people to come to college this fall to get them away why a lot of our indoctrination of Are younger generation in the reason that we're seeing are our church is empty of them people over the indoctrination that they're getting in college. They get pulled away from their families. They get pulled away from their churches. And guess what they have. Nobody to lean all they have nobody to follow nobody to look up to and the next thing they are pulled into the sacral chakra lips.

Secular ISM and everything else and we see it all the time. I've already been getting letters from nbsf directors if you know of Let us know because they realize he is that very first week. They can't wait a month down. They can't wait three months the road but the day matter fact the NBA SF now or actually showing up and helping students move into their door so that they can make contact and be the first one that they come in contact with on college campuses, but guess what that's a small thing and it's not very common and it's not very popular and so man that didn't new home that indoctrination is a matter of fact Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 25 that we take out of Khan so often not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of Sony is why is that for sewing because if you're going your read verse 24, it says in the last days what's going to happen if there's going to be a falling away there's going to wickedness. There's going to be able there's going to be pressure and it says even more so we need to get together and You need to stay grounded and we have watched it and I can show you mine. It's a private deal with pastors, but I can show you the number of me and that are in our better hurting and praying because of the spiritual condition of their church because they are not meeting together. They're not being together and you know it you may be great then watching it when you're at home and I admire those that are sticking with us, but I guarantee you the vast majority end up hitting pause or stop. Action in their house or something that goes and the next thing they are pulled away from the message of and we're seeing people just strictly going down and you see the exception the two-year tonight and I'm not saying that they should be at church, but you cannot I could not watch Facebook live. I try to watch Thurman's all week long from different brothers and in Christ and friends that I've had in sipping Eric and everything else, but you get so distracted. I may listen to the whole thing but 2 minutes 10 minutes later an hour later asked me what they preached about. I have no clue why because my focus and mind is on every other think there's just something about come together in the auditorium that we are focused on one thing. We kind of let everything else and I know how hard sometimes the distractions are even The one we're at home, and we're in our environment and stuff. It is even worse. It's so noticed. They had a new home. I found it kind of amazing that the first thing that they did to these young people from their families pull them out of their Heritage. That's their then neck of Nebuchadnezzar plundered the temple and all of its sacred articles and and everything. That was their first Corinthians. 15:33 says be not deceived evil Communications corrupt good manners matter fact Solomon said, you can't be around with fools and you've got to be if you want to be smart. If you want to be wise than hang out with smart and wise people not the other way around it is easy to compromise and conform with the world and get away from the influence of godliness, and it's amazing at how many times when Stan gets in her life. Where does the first thing we want to do is want to get away from That right. We know when Daniels not wanting to do doing what he supposed to do because why he wants to isolate himself from the family. He wants to get aside and not want to be with us and not want to eat with us. And guess what? We're seeing it right now and we're actually helping and propagating this idea of getting away. That's why it was so important and I appreciate K and Austin and the efforts that they're making for young people because we need this Heritage. We need the church family together had one come out of the church doors this morning sister Roxy, and she said I just want to personally thank you for opening up the church just had my church in Denver is not have it there not opening up services. She said I appreciate you doing it. And I know that those numbers are not big or whatever, but you know, I got to think and you know, because knowing that the numbers are up and our attendance is going down it and I expected that I look for that to happen today, but I asked the question and it was kind of Question yesterday I said what number does it have to get to before we dismiss Sunday night service again?

When we get down to 10 and we get down to 5 when we start putting numbers and looking at numbers for whether or not we have church or not. We're looking at the wrong thing right the same exact argument that I use when it comes to divorce if we how many divorces is it? Okay. Is it okay to have one? Is it okay to have two is it okay to have 20 or 30? And so all of these numbers are pushed there. So when we focus on the number, but we need to realize how important Church isn't in my heart's been breaking and you heard me preach for the last several years the fact that we are young preachers and young people today are getting away from this corporate Church mentality, and they're dividing the churches and they're wanting to do small groups. There's nothing wrong with small groups. I preached on that this morning Hospitality. We ought to be having hospitality and people in our home and doing things but guess what? It should not come at the cost of corporate worship. You cannot replace be I gather you cannot replace being family if there's something I I was talking to a family this week and the greatest thing out of all of this. None of it. They've all lost their jobs and everything else in the greatest praise that they had was this making the family come back together at mealtimes and sit at the table there is so you know, that's one thing. I don't know if you've seen the show Blue Bloods was Tom Selleck, but no matter what you think about their thoughts or anything else. What makes me like that show is it kind of like The Waltons you Remember The Waltons every episode ended either around the table at a meal or a family other discussing their differences discussing their stuff. We need that and we've got to have that if we're going to survive if you isolating and pulling things out of the school and out of the group, then it's going to be easy to come down and corrupt and Nebuchadnezzar do that. And so he gave him a new home. The thing that it did was give them new knowledge once you can get a people away from their families once you Young people to their Church you get people isolated from that then you can begin to indoctrinate them. You can begin to change the way they think that's why it's so important also that parents today when are kids start isolating and getting on their phones and YouTube and everything else. We need to be watching. We need to be keeping up with what they are being indoctrinated with because they're not going to necessarily come and talk to us. They're not going to come and share it. But guess what the more they pull away from you the more they get indoctrinated by other stuff. And so we've got to have please open Line communication notice and verse 3 and 4 what Nebuchadnezzar begin to do he said children and whom was no blemish well-favored and notice what he did they were running in knowledge and understanding science and such and had ability in them to stand in the king's Palace. And who they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. They are being exposed to things that they have never been exposed to before and we're watching in our society today. Guess what? It's not just happening in college. It's happening in our high school is happening in our elementary schools and everything until we have got to be very very careful when we allow other people to indoctrinate in jar, does not think that you got to be careful with the church indoctrination your it's your responsibility to teach your kids the word of God. It's your job it starts with you and then it filters out to the church and so me and you ought to be questioned and you ought to be making sure what we're teaching it and going to brother Austin and finding out what he's doing with the young bullet and knowing what's going on that is their God has not changed his mind about one single thing in the word of God. It doesn't matter if it's 4,000 years ago three thousand years ago two thousand years ago. What he said in the word of God still stands today and we have to understand that and if it is even if it makes the devil mad and upset the world has to stand on the word of God. It is the only thing that is sure it is. The only thing that is right as a matter of fact Psalms 119 and verse 89 says forever O Lord Thy word is settled in heaven. And so we have so many today that are wanting to do it with the word of God matter fact. I was reading an article this week and I hadn't finished it about a a Baptist preacher because they were on Facebook. They have been serving the church as a man for three years and they took advantage of the church in the community because they were on Facebook for her to come out of the closet until everybody publicly over Facebook and everything and catch all of the deacons and everybody else off guard and let them know that she was a transgender. And that she would he was really a girl and that's not right and we have so many people that reminds me of the word of God. So many people that are changing the word of God is saying we'll go do it anymore that really doesn't apply to us anymore to understand. If God said it that settles it back in the eighties. There was a bumper sticker that said God said it I believe it and that settles it in and I quickly jumped on that deep to get rid of that believe it. It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. If God said it that's settled in so take out and save your letter in the you make the rest of it bigger because God it has been settled. It is sure Isaiah 40:8 says the grass withereth the flower Fades but the word of God shall stand for ever and so men think we are confused and we hear so many different things that and it's amazing how that I've watched during this deal when you divide us and break us up how that the The two stations and things begin to control our thinking to the point. We don't know but guess what we do know we have something that is true. We have something that is sure we need to hang in to the word of God notice. He also gave him a new diet all of their lives these four young men had lived by the dietary laws that was handed down to them from God to Moses to the people. They are obeyed in in the certain things had not even touch their lips in certain things. They have never eat before then now they are faced with new food, you know the same thing. It's kind of happening in our homes today not necessarily with a diet, but how many new things are people being faced with because they're home and because of their isolated because of the extra time that we have on our hand and the different things that are going on. We are confronted daily by choices to either do or not to do certain things that cause us to be defiled that cause us Ruin our testimony with God in our Holiness that is there with the choices that I make in life can either build me up or they can tear me down. We have to make them we have to do that. The sad thing is according to 1st Corinthians chapter 9. Paul said I keep under my body and bring it into subjection less that by any means when I have preached to others. I myself should not be a Castaway Paul understood. You know what I can preach all day long. I can Pastor all day long. I can start churches all day long. But if I do it and I missed the boat all albums into my life to defile me than I have totally messed up everything your life is important to me but your life and standing before near important is my life standing before God and so I got to take care of it first and so we got to make sure it's extremely important that we constantly guard herself in this matter of what we take into our lives. David had a good plan. I've been watching and I'm watching less and less of of Netflix and everything everyday I try to watch the ratings and try to pick things Bass. Phone ratings but but even fit a PG and under 13 and all of that even still Summit lot of that is inappropriate in things that don't need to be watched and David made a covenant with his eyes and Psalms 101 in verse 3 said I will set no Wicked thing before my eyes. I hate to work of them that turned aside it shall not cleave to me. You think tank David understood what got him into trouble with Bathsheba. It was his eyes is so guess what? He said. I made a covenant with my eyes. I'm not going to look on things. I'm not going to allow my eyes to wonder I'm not going my eyes to see them and invite things into my mind that does not need to be there and so notice he gave him a new home full amount of the family. He began to indoctrinate them with all of the things of Babylon even to the new Foods in the new ways of worship the new nuances and all of the things of the things that I like about going to other countries right to expiry. The new things the new food and all of that and men here they were placed in Babylon this we could place that was totally against the laws that God has laid down and they were thrust into this and never could never takes it one more step. Look at verse 6 & 7 he gives them new names and it's really you look at their names and these young men arrived in Babylon carrying wonderful names. If it one thing that we have learned about studying the Old Testament is that names meant something as a matter of fact, they would not name for they were born or even when they were born and the young man did not get named until they were 12 years old or older. It's your character to look at who they are and different things and so they would wait when they went to have him circumcised on the 8th day and that's where they would name the Oldman and give them it and sometimes it would take even long and so their names men stuff their names was recognition is so Daniel. His name is my judge. Can you can you imagine every time that they call them Daniel? Are you want him to defile himself with the meat? He's wanting him being updated with the things of Babylon. He said Daniel lissing up up and was automatically reminded God is my judge. Well, that's not very good for indoctrinating them. And so we're going to have to change his name is so what did they change his name? They changed his name to built this as offer which means bill will protect Bell will be in one of the gods that they worshipped. And so let's define what God is going to judge bail protect you you can forget about your God Baal will control everything and then they had hananiah hananiah means god is gracious man. What about the grace of God when you're in a compromising situation right to know that God is gracefully and God's going to help you. Will they changed hananiah is named to Shadrack which means inspiration of the son you will you get your inspiration from the Sun and the stars. And listen God is the one that put all of that. God is above all of that but let's start thinking about the sun in the god that is there. Michele is means god is without equal his name was changed Meshach, which is very close which meant instead of God is without equal now belonging to a queue which was another God that they worshipped as a as a Ridah. The Lord is my helper became Abednego which means the servant of Nico and so noticed that never going to Nebuchadnezzar's goal was to change their identity say you can change them. On the inside, but if they still have an identity then guess what you will never control them Brian had me watch a great. Great documentary this week on Netflix and he asked for my comments. I'll text you back and I said man, that was mine that I'm going to have to actually watch it again before I even actually give a comment. Did you actually think put out by black lives matter in and me being a white person growing up in a white environment. It really put a lot of with with the doing these two Never follow their history and and things out of slavery. Is that his real fascinating. I still don't know where I think about it, but I want to watch it again. It was enough that it did definitely intrigued me and wanted me to watch it again. But listen to We we see all of this could have Dave is tearing down of statues moving a flags. All of this is why It's part of our history, but guess what if we can get rid of what we identify with then we can be changed. We could be manipulated. We see that right here with these boys it let's get them on the inside and starting Dr. Nadem but we've got to change their identity. We got to change who they are. We got to get them to start thinking these other God this other warship and everything 1st John 3:1. I quoted it this morning said behold what manner of love the father has bestowed upon us that we should be called The Son of God there for the world know if it's not because it knew him night and is what part that I quoted this morning was beloved. We the sons and it does not yet appear what we shall be but we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. We never can forget never ever ever forget that we are twice born and where no, Longer attached to this world. We're no longer attached to our identification with things of our past. We are attached to Jesus Christ. We have a new kingdom and that's what we've been studying in Peter. We have to remember that. We are there with Christ as we go through this life. There's going to be constant attempts by the end of me to get us to let her guard down there going to be constant opportunities to conform to the world standards and do things that we know are wrong. But listen these times are testing they are trials that can be weathered safely and securely we can come out the other side. Someone said this morning that the last time the world can look like this was in 1918 right before the depression and everything. It looked exactly go back and study. Are you had the same world you had the same shape you had pestilence you had everything else then guess what we survived we rally do you look at the Revival through the thirties and the forties in the repentance that is there. We can come back to God, but we can't if we lose our identity we can if we lose our purpose and that brings us to vs8. We're going to pick up we have next week. How do we face compromise? Look at what Daniel did but Daniel purposed in his heart. He purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with a portion of the king's meat nor the wine which he drank therefore. He requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Did he make it? Did you say I'm not going to do it? Did he pick it? Did he pitch a fit? Did he throw a tantrum know? What does it say there? It says he purposed in his heart there for he requested he requested. The sad thing is is how many of us or even requesting we have totally finian. We have totally stepped out but the part with the purpose in our heart speaks not to compromise, but it speaks to character. What does God look at does God look at the outward parts of man. Absolutely. Not the Bible said God looks at our heart God looks at who we are on the outside character is defined as it is what you will do in the dark when no one's looking that's character that shows character. Anybody can pick up trash when somebody's looking anybody can open the door for somebody when so everybody's looking anybody could be nice when people are looking but what do you do when nobody's looking? Daniel had already purposed in his heart Daniel was already full of character. And so if we going to have to face compromise today, we need to face it with the word of God God's word is true. God word assure and God's word is going to stand it. And so yes, we can compromise. Yes, we can do things we can have things taken away from us. We can freedoms added and everything else. But I told you according to act in the line is when I no longer can preach Jesus Christ and him crucified in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There's a line there. When am I going to crawl compromised on the gospel? Am I going to preach what they say? I can't preach absolutely not I'm going to preach the word of God. If they don't like it then they're going to have to repent and God. I've done it since the time that I've been here is past and hopefully I will stay strong enough that I will continue to preach the word of God. Not my feelings. Not what I desire, but guys we need our young people in it. It's amazing. You see two different Generations here. You say the older generation and you see the young patient and that's an amazing thing we have for young people here than we have older people but you have an older people here because of commitment even though they're high risk, even though you run a risk by getting out in public you understand the importance of church and assembly and our young people need to see that our young people need to know that a man. We don't need to isolate. We need to make sure that we are together and edify and try to do the very best that we possibly can as we stand and have aversive invitation there. My father we thank you so much for your word. We thank you so much for the example that you have given us of David and and dearly father. We just know that there's so many compromises and there's so many things and and sometimes we we struggle with what we need to do. And Lord, we're so very thankful. Your word doesn't change that. There's things that have already been settled in and is the writer of Hebrews is already told us that that that church and corporate worship.
