Psalms 71:14-24

I.       Verse 14,

A.    He stops looking at the past and starts looking to the future with faith knowing God will take care.

B.    He starts praising God for what He will do in the future.

II.     Verse 15,

A.    We are to give testimony to anyone we can of the experience we have had with God.

B.    He has been blessed some much.

III.    Verse 16,

A.    Philippians 3:8-9, Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.

IV.   Verse 17,

A.    He has been taught sense his youth and has told everyone about what God has done for him.



 

V.    Verse 18,

A.    As many old people ask, what am I going to do with the rest of my life now that I am retired?

B.    Many people ask in there middle age, “what have I done with my life?”

C.    Here in Psalms 71, we should be inspired to live a good life for the Lord in our old age.

D.    He had a soul winner’s heart.

VI.   Verse 19,

A.    God's righteousness is perfect. He is all perfect.

B.    God had plan and executed plans for redemption and salvation.

C.    In our life, we need to be praising God who has done so much for us.

1.     Who has done so much for the people of earth than the true God in heaven?

VII. Verse 20,

A.    God has been righteous as we need to be righteous and God has been merciful as well.

B.    God show leads us into trials and also gives us mercy to get out.

C.    No matter how low God lets us sink, He will always bring us out.

VIII.         Verse  22,

A.    David is always praising God for taking care of him.

B.    David knew that God's word was true and he could always count on it.

IX.   Verse 23,

A.    What he is saying here is, when one is in the will of God, God is ever there taking care of them.

X.     Verse 24,

A.    This means to talk to one self. To talk aloud to ones self.

B.    This denotes fullness of heart. Ones soul is so full of joy of Christ.

C.    “all the day long” to talk to ones self all the time.
