Action So far

Action Plan 1 = Serve the Lord
never grow tired of doing good
Action Plan 2 = Everyday Habits
joyful in hope
Patient in affliction
Faithful in prayer
Action Plan 3 = Real Genuine Love
true love from Jesus through us to Others
Galatians 6:9–10 NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Paul says two things
ONE
take note of this
there is a tremendous encouragement that in Jesus Christ this is possible
keep on doing good
TWO
Share with the Lord’s people
this is really important - to look after our family
we just do not meet on Sunday - we care for one another
so we come to our verse in Romans
Romans 12:13 NIV
Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
An Attitude of Blessing
hospitality is more than just giving
it is an attitude and a lifestyle
it comes from the generosity of Christ within us
the question is - do we really want to share our life, our home, our blessings with others
hospitality is most definitely an act for others
An Understanding Required
what is a generous spirit? How does it show itself in hospitality?
there is a learning of what are our riches
there is a clarity that our riches come from the Lord
there is a learning of how to trust the giving of our riches as hospitality
we must be clear minded in our approach
Our Riches
our riches are far greater and more extensive than our bank balance
Many of us have time on our hands.
Many of us are encouragers extraordinaire with a smile and friendly words.
Many of us are kind and gentle.
Many of us have riches of this world – a car we do not often use or possessions just sitting in a cupboard gathering dust.
Many of us want to see our families and our friends grow in hope and comfort especially when times are tough.
What is Hospitality
the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers.
Hospitality requires the means of being generous and the will to be generous.
This generosity is personal - it is not at the end of a chequebook or brown envelope
it is essentially and dynamically, the giving of oneself
it is sharing our home, our space, our time our very being to others
We as the Lord’s people need to be generous,
so do we have a mindset and do we have the heartbeat of blessing others?
Hospitality within God’s Family
Let us practice hospitality with our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord
seek God’s direction on how to bless, how to be hospitable
be aware that the devil, will attempt to steal that first thought away
do not consider the nature or position of the person when you give hospitality
but do not stop there. Reach out into our community to bring relief to the poor and the lonely and the hurting. The world can be a tough place to live yet we have been rescued from it, restored to the kingdom of Jesus Christ. We are blessed beyond measure so let us bless. Our riches are countless with great hope and eternal encouragement in abundance.
