Abraham, Friend of God

God desires to bless His creation. Mankind had been in rebellion since the Fall and through the Flood. In Gen 11, mankind seeks to make a name for themselves and not to fear the name of the Lord. God then calls one of them - Abram - to obey Him and to be the beginning of the next part of His plan to bless the world. God gives Abram an opportunity for FAITH.
God set up life to be wonderful. We messed it up. He worked again to give us another chance - a chance to have life the way it was designed to live.

Genesis 11:1–9 NASB95
Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” The Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. The Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them. “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.
Are you tired of all the confusion? Maybe the answer is something different. Maybe it is something simple, yet tough.
Hebrews 11:6 NASB95
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Hebrews 11:1 NASB95
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Faith is tough. But God is faithful and He LOVES to be trusted.

Genesis 12:1–9 NASB95
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” So Abram went forth as the Lord had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the persons which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; thus they came to the land of Canaan. Abram passed through the land as far as the site of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. Now the Canaanite was then in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him. Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord. Abram journeyed on, continuing toward the Negev.
Coming to camp.
God has blessed the world through Abraham. One of his descendants changed everything. His name is Jesus.
What about you? Is your life confusing? With everything going on right now, what do you think it is going to take to make it in this world?
What or who are you believing in? Are you willing to leave behind your old way of doing things and simply follow the Lord?
