What does it take to be a father?

You have to be a man (male)
You have to have offspring (to reproduce)

Define -FATHER-

ancestor; progenitor; chief
To be the source or originator of something
The oldest member of a society or other body
A man who introduces or founds something (Father of our country) (Founding fathers) (Church fathers) (Father of modern medicine)
A man who provides care and protection
Romans 4:17 NASB95
17 (as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.
Ephesians 4:3–6 NASB95
3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

Character qualities of a Father


Responsibilities of a Father

To be an example of Jesus Christ
To provide basic needs for those under his care
To protect those under his care (spiritually and physically)
To care for his family in every way needed
To call the direction for his family
To shape and mold his family into the image of Christ
