Can These Reporters Be Trusted?

In Video one I showed you how the Gospels were written as eyewitness accounts to the work and life of Jesus Christ
We explored how the equivelant today is news paper articles
Yet can the reporters that report the news be trusted?
Well in the bible lets have a look?
The reporter Matthew is accepted through out the church as the Eyewitness person to Jesus.
When he wrote his Gospel it was to the Hebrews in their own tounge.
There is a piece of text by Ireneaus in around AD 180 that stated Matthew wrote his own Gospel amonst the Hebrews.
Mark who was the interpreter to Peter who was the eyewitness to Jesus wrote essentially Peters Gospel but we call it Mark.
Luke is known as one of the first Historians who gathered all the evidence and put together the eyewitness account of Jesus. He was a person who worked along side paul.
Matthew, John, and Peter were the original Eyewitnesses that gave the very accurate oral account.
Then they were written down by Mark, and Luke and in Pauls letters some of the accounts come in, these are known as Secondry Eyewitness Accounts. Like a Journalist going to the crime scene asking the office what has happned.
By the end of it Matthew, Mark, Luke and John with Paul all write esentially what is today known as the New Testament. Yet they all never met up together in the same place at the same time.
To summarise these reporters as the legit eyewitness testimony we would say the following.
We have confidence in the gospels written by the first disciples like this, Matthew and John, By Mark, the companion to the desciple Peter and by Luke the Historian but companion to Paul and a sort of first century journalist, we can then rest assured the events were recorded are either direct or indirect Eyewitness accounts.
If you look at the accounts they were written differently and some details are mixed around.
Yet in this way it actually gives more legetimacy to the Gospels because if you were to make something up you would put,
Word For Word accounts to make it sound more legit
But Pshycologists and Investigators have actually historically found this makes an account lest legit.
Again like newspapers in each account is written by its own reporter and some parts of the account are different but we can conclude from the various reports that are sometimes taken directly from eyewitness accounts or indirectly from eyewitness accounts that the accounts are accurate and legigitimate
Simon Greenleaf Harvard Law School one of Histories most important legal figures Says this,
I have Paraphrased for the sake of time, “there is no doubt that these accounts were written in different places, around the same time and thyere was no previous evidence to say that the concerted before writing these accounts.”
