Patience

Psalm 27:14 ESV
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Patience is the quiet, uncomplaining endurance under stress or annoyance
Patience is the will to wait.
When God says no we shouldn’t think of it as God rejecting you, it is God protecting you. Would we say that we are a patient person.
God will give us the right compass always. So, what is required of us to have patience?
We need to have faith in God
Have faith that He will direct me always
We need to have a spirit of obedience
We may fall short at times, but our lives must speak of obedience
We need to have discernment of God’s timing
We wait for God’s timing understanding that it is greater than our timing
We need to love God
If we love Him we will obey Him. If we love Him we will be patient. If we don’t love Him we won’t trust Him and when we don’t trust Him we are impatient and showing that we don’t truly love Him.
Our conduct, conversation, and character will speak to our patience, love, and trust in God
We say God didn’t give because He doesn’t love, but He didn’t give because He does love!
We need to be courageous
It takes courage to be obedient, trusting, and patient to God. There are times when God may allow us to get very very uncomfortable in our circumstances and situations, but He will never leave us or forsake us. God will deliver!
We need to determine to wait
When we do things our way they will never end the way we intended. Think about Abraham and Sarah and having the Ishmael with Hagar.
Why is patience essential to godly living?:
Patience is essential to develop a strong faith
The only two dynamics or characteristics in the Bible that deal with timing is patience and faith. To have faith we need wait. To have patience we must wait. When we pray for patience or faith God will not directly grant them to us, but He will give us opportunities to develop them
Patience is essential to a life of obedience
If we are going to obey God we must listen and obey. We must be willing to give up what we think is best for us and trust in what God says is best for us.
Patience is essential to building good relationships
Impatience can cause fights, division, or broken relationships. We need to have and express patience in all relationships. We all make mistakes and we all need grace and patience.
Impatience never cures anything
Patience is essential to know God’s timing
Timing is very important. Do we value God enough to wait for His decision and timing?
Patience is essential to see God at work
God has a purpose for our life and He will make it clear if we just relax
God will never let us down, He will never let us fail!
If we got time to post then we have time to pray
If we got time to scroll we have time to read

Jesus
Hebrews 6:11–12 ESV
And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Faith + Patience = Promise
Hebrews 6:13–15 ESV
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise.
