3 Priorities of a Disciple - Case Study: Abraham Luke 14:26-35 Priority #1: God Before All People (26) …if you do not hate… PRIORITY STATEMENT: God must displace all relationships. I must be constantly choosing God over all other relationships. Following God correctly defines and aligns my relationships with others. a) Abraham ___________________ home & family (Gen 12:1-4) b) Abraham ___________________ Isaac (Gen 22:1-19) Priority #2: God Before All Pursuits (27) bearing cross/coming after Me PRIORITY STATEMENT: God must replace all ambitions. I must be continually saying “no” to the world, the flesh, and the devil, and be saying “yes” to God and His Word. a) Abraham ___________________ God’s plan (Gen 12:5-9) b) Abraham ___________________ God’s promise (Gen 15:1-6) Priority #3: God Before All Possessions (33) …not forsaking all… PRIORITY STATEMENT: God must be governing all my material belongings.
