Part 1: The Presence of the Holy Spirit

John 14:15-17

Acts 1:8, “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…”

John 14:15-17

John 16:7; Jesus says, “But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”

Why are so many living a Spirit-less life?

1.) Some Aren’t Aware Of The Holy Spirit.

Acts 19:1-2, “…Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’ They answered, ‘No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.’ ”

2.) Some Resist The Holy Spirit.

Acts 7:51, “You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit.”

3 Ways the Presence of the Holy Spirit Will Minister to You

1.) The Holy Spirit Will Comfort You.

John 14:16,“And I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.” (KJV)

2.) The Holy Spirit Will Counsel You.

John 16:13, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you in all truth.”

3.) The Holy Spirit Will Convict You.

John 16:8, “When the Spirit comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.”

Reflection Question: Have you been filled with the Spirit since you believed?

Acts 8:14-17, “When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.”
