SERIES INTRODUCTION
We are living in a world overrun by fear. The Corona virus dominates the news and has us locked away in our homes. Meanwhile with businesses closed or limited workers are being laid off or furloughed. People are afraid of getting sick, afraid of losing their job, afraid of losing their home. Where do we turn in the middle of this much fear?
RECAP PREVIOUS WEEKS IN SERIES

Starting principal: You get to choose whether to empower faith or fear in your life

God tells us: “Fear Not...”
“I am with you “
“I care for you”
“I have overcome the world”
“I have defeated death”
What kind of faith should we have? We have looked at two kinds of faith so far.

“Even if” Faith doesn’t require a specific outcome for obedience.

“Get Out of the Boat” Faith calls us to leave the safety of our comfort zone so that we can walk with Jesus.

CONNECT THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE
This week we close out the series with the third kind of faith we need to have.

“One More Time Faith”

EXPLORE
PRIMARY SCRIPTURE
Joshua 6:1–3 ESV
1 Now Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the people of Israel. None went out, and none came in. 2 And the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor. 3 You shall march around the city, all the men of war going around the city once. Thus shall you do for six days.
Joshua 6:4–6 ESV
4 Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. 5 And when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, everyone straight before him.” 6 So Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.”
Joshua 6:20 ESV
20 So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.

MAIN IDEA
Transition from scripture to main idea

THE MAIN THING: To see God’s victory, we have to stay faithful to the end of his plan.

Explore the Main Idea

Share: If you were going to conquer a walled city, what is one thing you want to have?

1. God’s plan is going to be in his wisdom, not yours

Point 1 text

It may not make sense, but it’s not about you

2. God’s plan is going to be for his glory, not yours

Point 2 text
Joshua 5:13–15 ESV
13 When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?” 14 And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?” 15 And the commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

It may not be exactly what you want, BUT IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU

Share: When have you had a hard time going along with someone else’s plan?

3. God’s plan is going to demonstrate his strength, not yours

Point 3 Text

IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU

Share: “It’s not about me.”

4. The road to victory may seem pointless

Point 4 text

5. You won’t see the victory until you complete the course

Point 5 Text
1 Corinthians 9:24 ESV
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
2 Timothy 4:7 ESV
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
