Introduction
Before we get into this week’s text I want you to recall the end of last week’s passage
Natural Person vs. Spiritual Person
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.

These categorizations are important for understanding Paul today

These terms should be synonymous
They should equal all Christians but they don’t
Yes all Christians have the Holy Spirit, yet, as we are about to see, not all Christians can be treaded as Christians with regard to teaching.
Let’s see what I mean in today’s text.
Exposition
1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
I, Paul
Could not address you as Spiritual people
in other words, he could not teach them as he would expect to teach Christians
Instead, he taught them as people of the flesh which he also refers to as infants in Christ
Let me submit to you that you should absolutely not be an infant in Christ unless you came to faith in the last day or so.

2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready,
3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?
4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?

9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.
