Often times, those who are in power exploit those who are poor. This Psalm demonstrates that those who would do so are considered wicked. They are wicked for two reasons: 1). They do not honor or respect God. 2). They do not acknowledge his prized creation humanity because of their station in life.

Good morning.

Mount Olive Baptist Church here to 11 46th Street, Washington DC. Thank you so much for joining me with us again this particular weekend and we look forward to what the Lord is going to do. Certainly. We have a lot to cover an address. I do want again encourage one to encourage you all to stay safe and stay home with necessarily understand now that the government is now and states are beginning to roll out their phase one of their return to quote on quote a normal see if you will so I just pray that you would still continue to remember those two safety precautions. For example, the fact that you have to put on the mask the fact that you have to continue to wash your hands into practice good personal hygiene for those who are on the front lines special prayers for you because we know that you are really in 1/6 Overexposed. Today, we like to talk about something very very interesting. And in fact, I believe there's someone a proposal it will be a departure from a series of True Believers going to verse John. I believe that the time called calls for us to address issues that are happening in our world. And so to that end we are going to do that and be obedient to the Holy Spirit, but before we do that, I just asked if you would join me in prayer just for a moment. Father in heaven, we thank you God for this is beautiful day. We thank you Father for this day to be never seen before and we ask God that you'd allow your Holy Spirit to be with us right now in father to those to be with those who also Lord out and either watching via the Internet or either watching the Lord God over Facebook or YouTube or even the website you pray to God that you will be with them and allow them Lord to feel your spirit be moved or God to be obedient to it. We asked for God that you might cleanse the heart of your servant father let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight. Oh Lord my strength and my redeemer Jesus name. Amen.

Back in about 1986. There was a young 18 year old who had gone on a trip and Excursion if you will small trip trip. Basically, they took him to one of the corner stores in the area that he lived in during that. Of time as he was on his way. There is to this particular corner store after you came out of the store. He looked up and he saw more policemen that he could ever remember. He saw a matter fact, he saw patio Dragons It's kind of dating at the time that he was living in but he saw Patty wagon. So you saw a man coming toward him with revolvers drawing. He saw men coming toward him with Cruiser is with the shotgun in the door. At which time it was, Co because it was told that as the young man was walking down the street if you will he had in his hand on one hand and a half pint of milk in one hand and head with him a a Dippin donut that you used to use when you are drinking coffee and he was wearing only a T-shirt and pair of medical scrubs at the time which was in Vogue and supposedly he was on his way to the high school to meet with his then high school sweetheart. My understanding is as he was going down that way he looked up and that's when all these policemen coming toward him and they did what we usually see happen and television. They they yelled to him and they said to him you with their weapons drawn. He could see the holster. I can't see the holster on there. You can see the poster if you will only laughing as they were running toward him and it was it was just really something else to behold as they recount the story of what happened will eventually what happened was. This is one of the policemen got out of the car. The one that had the shotgun in it grabbed him and threw him down on the ground really just kind of Mop at him up on the ground and he placed his nickel plated. Service revolver behind his left ear is said to him and some expletives that if he mentioned anything or said anything that he would blow his brains out.

Any of the other stand this young man lived? Is a particular area was represented. Are you? This is a situation that we find ourselves in today. A situation where those who are the poor? Those who are the oppressed. These are those who find themselves in situations that is Rife with Injustice. Factory in Saint Augustine said if you remove Justice without them the games of criminals. on a large scale I'll text today comes from a song 10. A speaking specifically about the oppression of the poor. Our situation is such today that we see this happen over and over and over and over again often times too many times to even begin to number. So when he's opening up here the song This begins to talk about first of all the plight of the poor now this just permit. First of all, they are oppressed in most cases. They are pressed. They don't have the wherewithal to be the fight for themselves and we would be hard-pressed to find someone like Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos or or Carlos Slim or any of those individuals to find themselves in an uncomfortable place because when you have a 170 a billion dollars at your disposal, it's hard to find that you are oppressed. But this particular case we find that the poor we find that they are indeed a depressed but not only are they impressed in most cases of particularly in the Old Testament time. I want you to take a look today as used as you survey the landscape, but what's going on in our country? Who are they? Beneficiaries if you will of Oppression and use it as someone who does not have a father to speak with him not saying that mothers can't do it, but there's something about a father standing between his children and his family and distinct all the pressure and fax in some cases because the father was not there he did they didn't have provision and see the picture of a society people will exploit that vulnerability but they also are under-represented. In fact one to think that Christian legal Society brings. Do I want to be well represented in the court uses going to lose their case. I mean how many people do you know that can pay you $570 an hour and it's probably really if you will fall in attorney to stand up for them. In fact, there's some of them that won't even have their change. The ever represented not represented well because they don't have the financial And people on music stand up for the poor for the most part because there's no benefit to them. exploded

exploited and since they were exploited what that means is that people take advantage of them Marvin Gaye and his great song Make Me Wanna holler a DC native says Hang Ups. Let Downs bad brakes set setbacks natural fact is You know, I can't pay my taxes. He says makes me wanna holler throw up both my hands. It makes me wanna holler and throw up both. My hands crime is increasing. Trigger-happy police it Panic is spreaded. God knows where we're headed over. It makes me wanna holler and she said something about this whole idea of being depressed that when you are depressed and when you are under-represented and when you are exploited, the only thing that you have is your voice and right now we are experiencing even in the nation's capital Summit expressing of the voices of this thing called Injustice don't want to talk about if you will I want to talk about cry for justice. Happy birthday. We see here in in in in in in Salt N. Is this the worst day since he has washed myself in times of trouble the wicked in his pride up their persecute the poor let them be awakened and let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined about with this idea. He begins to explain to us the picture of the wicked people. In fact, he goes a step further all the way. He talked about in verses 1 through 4 how prideful the wicked because they think they can get away with it can be a distraction if you will play sample. I hear you have a man. That has his knee on the neck of another man. 480 seconds he does it in such a way that he doesn't callously he doesn't such a way as if he's done it before he does it in the way so that he puts this man under so much stress, but even his bodily fluids begin to come out because he already knows that there's no way to be riveted and even to limit 2 minutes after the man had lost Consciousness. He still had his me on this guy's in That is George voice neck and that lets us know. There's a wickedness about those who are oppressors. There is a wickedness. There's a prize for Miss. There's this idea that I can do this I can get away with this and there's nothing that you can do about it and other thing that he's bringing out here that these individuals was right here. I know that this somehow another there's no way to get back at me. Because they've done for so long. The question to ask is God. Where are you in the midst of this particular? He says here for the wicked both of his heart's desire and bless the Covetous Covetous whom the Lord For The Wicked through pride of his countenance will not see God is not in all their thoughts. cost of an individual who can take a purse How can God?

And totally agree that is okay who sits safely ensconced in their on Enclave if you will and say nothing about it because that's not coming next to me. O'Reilly The Washington Post Rights and the article that he wrote on yesterday. Talking about this whole issue of what it means to be oppressed, but your glass replaced the people of Africa. He has to question. Don't you? Why is it he said he said what's going on? What's going on isn't Daniel Savers death of white man shot by another white officer. Not necessarily racist. Is it just that due to aggressive against everyone? Why didn't shave his death sparked protests like those we see in Minneapolis and elsewhere since the death of Floyd. He's asking his answer in short was this first he said he don't work. It will see another white person get locked up a shot. They don't see themselves in it. The black people on the other hand they do. Because what they do is this could be my uncle that could be my son that could be my father can be my husband that can be my brother and I can be my grandfather friend or insurance. And he says he said the white people. He said they have they have the ability and they have the luxury. compartmentalizing that brutality I'm glad you don't have that much. The twice as likely to be shot and killed.

10 people is going to be pulled over search when nothing is wrong. They're going to be talked to her than anyone else. Because you're black. Open your poor. mute people of color Are you a certain towards a certain cities in places where people are not born at right now? People say let's stay away from that play people. Who who is you're talking about visiting someone they find out you in a particular ward in the city. They kind of try to figure out is it safe to go? There's my car. All right way. These are the people these are kind of people that this gentleman is talking about. These are the people are the ones who are most likely to be oppressed. Song that says that only all these folks trying to be says they're Wicked. The wicked and their Grievous that is their wickedness has a way of ruining something. That should be beautiful. wickedness has a way of causing people not to be able to enjoy things for most of which is just about Over with the home that was a guy Eric. I can't breathe.

I've been here we come with Armand Albury. Before we can. Just then the next thing we looked up and now we have Rihanna tape. Justify that good. Now we have George Floyd. I need that the same thing. Dairy princess. I can't breathe. I guess nobody's doing anything about it.

anyway So it's green just everyone is Grievous to society to white folks who have been loving black folks will be respectful to black folks who didn't get an opportunity to black folks for a black folks who have been trying to live up right Lives who been trying to do the right thing, but we're trying to go to write place to get the right education do everything is supposed to do is just like it was with a man was walking through Central Park and he begin to tell the young lady hook. You need to put your dog on the leash and nothing. You know, she's calling somebody at the lock him up because he's a black man. What we mean by that is Grievous because all of us if we had a few. It is wicked. It's not just evil. It's not me it's wicked.

It's worth it because it shoes has to deface the Imago Dei the image of God and shoes it to Discount the Divinity of humanities and you hear this watch this position in privilege if you will. Call the person to become traumatized by the abuse that used to follow those same types of uses of misuse of power in prison.

Picture of the wicked is very simple. their pride

the Grievous they mess up everything they vomit on everything all the good work that everybody's trying to do they vomit on that because people now another as friends now, I'm looking at one another with suspicious and their heart is corrupt because it's all about Holy Trinity Me Myself and I

pedantically says Heaven song Psalm chapter chapter 10 verses 12 through 18 and against two

Because it was five. He talks about them being grieving his ways are watch this. Always Grievous. The judgments are far above out his sight ass for all his in Mesquite public at this and other any practice of racism. I don't care if it's black against white white against black. If it's against those individuals June against against those individuals who don't have power to respond to that. He says his Grievous versus 12 and 18.

Wherefore does the wicked King team job. He has said in his heart dog will not require it. No worries God you're not going to do anything. I don't believe that you going to respond to me taking advantage of your creation. He goes on it says it's as well hear some other things that we talked about the punishment. Why because because one he holds God in contempt. Talked about the punishment that we can because he holds God in contempt. See the challenge of those individuals who are working like this. They don't think that God is ever going to do anything about this. They think it cuz the watch the Disney because the the gears and the Browns if you will and the wheels of justice that runs so fine and so slow it will never get to them. You don't understand. What is the Bible says in Galatians chapter 6 7? God be not deceived God is Not mocked. What's of a man soweth that shall he also reap what they sow to the flesh corruption on to the spirit eternal life? And that God has a reckoning and that it will come that it will happen. Even though it's bloat and fat God is so slow because he wants people to even get saved God is Not slack concerning his promise but his long-suffering not putting in any should perish but that all should come to repentance. What's the scripture also says in Ecclesiastes 8-11 because man because of adjustment against the evil work is not executed speedily there for the heart. God will render Justice he will give you what you deserve.

He will render it for you.

As the old folks say if he don't get you in the washer. ignition wrench not only is the punishment of wicked inevitable because because because of vs 14 + Is this town has seen it but I'll be home this mischief and Spike to requite it with Diana and the poor committed himself unto thee Thou Art the help of the fathers and so he says because because because the wickedest done with that. God will have compassion on those of us who are experiencing this tragedy. You're my heart goes out to the Floyd family goes out to the arbory family goes out to the Taylor family goes out to all who have experienced this tragedy. Who have experienced what it means to to be helpless those individuals say they are here to protect and to serve but they destroyed my heart goes out to them. Because it's like is the same psychological surgery services like moral injury is hard for us to be able to trust those individuals who are here to protect but we don't have anybody else. So we were like a real life as they say it is a man with a two thoughts and online to love interest to hate at the same time to How to embrace at the same time it's like we got this strange stereo playing I need you to respect the law, but I need to be fearful alone. Because the law might do something even though I've done nothing to break the law.

So glad that God. Going to Versailles issues but also because he is the king versus 16. So the Lord is king forever and ever and the kids are not perish out of his land lord has heard the desire of the hunk with you. God will prepare their heart that will cause got into here to judge the fatherless of the oppressed that the man of Earth may know more press. Somebody say how you know you talked about this is which because those people who are the poor all the oppressed. How can a poor man impress anybody? I press for the situation here. This this man. It has received far far greater.

I remember when I used to be in banking we have people coming from time to time and they give us a check that they had stolen out of somebody's mailbox. And I will look at it and know immediately that there was something wrong with the check and I was stalled individuals more moment. I will call it. Does the owner of the check and let them know that I have a check to Dad their name one with an undisclosed sum and and they would let me know that they did not write that check in which time I would say to the person on the other side of the glass you can't get this back. I can't recall the time when a person. Was locked up for writing a bad check. I can't recall the time when a person who passed off fake a $50 bill to me in the bank couldn't give you that $50 back $50 bill bad. We don't know how you got it. Somebody money gave it to you in the dark and dark and metro station somewhere. And so you don't really know you might have been getting you might have been getting changed to some. Here you find yourself with this kind of pill bill.

We don't know how he got the money. He got we don't even know how he got to check it again. All we know is that he's not here anymore.

You know Terrence. Stingray 186 set this extreme Justice Is oftentimes extreme Injustice? See a man with his knee on somebody else's neck. Right in the place where he is trying to breathe when he's telling you straight forward. I can't breathe. I can't breathe and you ignoring that you already got to detain. What is that nothing but So folks now we are in a situation now because first of all we are in a situation where we got nothing but time because it's cold and we don't have anything else but time but I've been single for trying to watch this whole thing on television. We have anything planned what we going to do anything else but time to figure out how to respond to this rate atrocity and the thing that's really really beautiful and scary at the same time as if the people are coming together. I'm not Unbelievable black and white the challenge faced by the time is that Believers black and white. Together say anything about it. They will say anything about it. It will say anything about it because they are afraid that what might happen. They might lose it.

They won't say anything about it because all the friends that they know who say nothing else about it has already said to them that they say something about it. Small infrared call Ted responses. In fact, in fact the response I hear the most is this right here where you know, the guy should have been out there doing that. Well what?

They won't say anything about it. Strange science of how to benign tacit racism that goes along with that. Something that I'm positive that God does not embrace.

so we wonder why we have people burning down their City. Even though we recognize that the stores probably will never open. The people will probably never get the jobs back that came with that. Why do they do it is kind of like Trevor Noah said earlier today. It is like it's like the social contract to protect me if I'm doing the right. What's the weather for anything else? I'm not cosigning. I'm just sharing.

Somebody wrote it this way what happened to A Dream Deferred? Does it dry up Like A Raisin in the Sun or Fester like a sore and then run does it stink like rotten meat or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load or does it explode? Last couple of nights the dream is exploding. The fuse was lit with a guy by the name of Emmett Till exploded when Amy Cooper felt so comfortable as to call the police on a man that part because she knew that it would cause him drama. Exploring with their grandson. I can grieve it exploded with Rolando Castro getting shot in his car and it exploded with almond are buried it exploded with Brianna. Taylor was shot 22 times in her own home with George Floyd. That's why you have handemonium. And pandemonium because we we choose to enforce the law but somebody's needs to check the law before they begin to try to enforce the law.

Yeah that 18 year old. 18 year old that day 1981 he was not mirandized. It did not receive a phone call. And when he was placed in the face of his accuser she bowed her head because she knew she was wrong. She knew it because it was me. She knew it was because of me and she complimented me about my tire as a Cadet.

She knew with me because she see me in a lot of cages leading people. She knew she had falsely accused me. But I was depressed. My mother never wondering where I was at that night. Everybody's trying to figure out what's going on with Junior because usually junior is in the place it's supposed to do but because this individual did they could do what they didn't get away with it they did. Question is the where do we go from here? We'll help with that. All those who are inclined to inform me of me so much that that that that black on black crime thing. We need to focus on that. Please miss me with that argument is Nolan border issue here is we have peoples going to protect us blithely and callously Killers. Please miss me with that argument find something more substantial business because I want to say to you praise God for you if the righteous didn't say anything then what happened at the righteous will Thank you to my wife brothers and sisters. I know that a lot of you on the pressure for tickling those of you who are in nice private places for tickling wage in gated communities and you may not see everything Americans every so often and it might have one African-American friend, but you chose it to go beyond comfort and convenience and had the courage to confront about what's going on. Thank you very much. God bless you. May your tribe increase.

Then I want to say to my brothers and sisters of African descent. Those of you who are enraged. And has good reason to be enraged think Beyond today. Think Beyond what's happening right now? Because you got to live after today. If you protested. Do it peacefully don't burn down your property or somebody else's property. That doesn't make you a protest it makes you a criminal. That means that you'll find yourself in uncomfortable places because you allow your remote to overrun your mind. think before you at go to think we can do is write somebody. You know who the rain in your legislation, you know who the right and the Senate you know, what the right and House of Representatives. Right? Right, right, whatever you need to do to get this point across but don't do it. Finally. My brother and sister in places, for example, the one thing I like that the mayor of Atlanta said it's number thinking of the one thing you need to do is you need to you need to register to vote. register to vote register to vote if you can get on lunch you can register to vote register to vote and then when November comes vote. Don't stop. doing the state legislature voting

What are the things that I've noticed about this whole situation is that people are continuing to protest but they haven't going. register vote although suicide who continue to make excuses you continue to allow benign racism by virtue of sinus or tacit approval to continue. I pray that God with turn you from your blindness. Don't don't make excuses, please just I pray that God. Return you to your senses and realize that this is affecting everyone. Christians

I was saying to us particularly those of us, who are What have you different races it's time now more than ever for us to love one another. Italy first John when he thinks he says is his temp was very very simple. He says, how can you love God whom you can't see but not love your brother when you can see and feel this way John 13 3435 by this all men should know that you are my disciples if you have loved one to another So is time now more than ever for you to love one another?

The others God has special words for those who co-signed this wickedness. Don't do it. And I'm closing with this. Does the white young lady in? African-American friendly with down and I think they were down and down in Auburn the thing where the University of Auburn is Auburn University is they were playing around for a stable dating I guess. Anime intimated that they were dating and and they found themselves playing around and frolicking around and they started running. running to his car and the young lady who happens to be wife him being black. She was running in front of him. and so and so and so what happened was it after that finally got into the car got it in the car set down in the car and your man says don't ever run like

Is it because in this state? Is it look like I'm chasing you? Because it looks like I was chasing you that means what happen if somebody will arrest me. Now, we know how we are in this country. We have more heat in life what happens if somebody is up getting shot on the situation. She said to herself. She said, you know, what kind of world we live in today even in the 20 in 20/20? Where my friend? Has to be fearful of even playing with me because of his race.

I believe God is going to address this issue. In the words of Theodore Parker, I do not pretend to understand the moral universe. The Arc is the long one. a little ways Can I calculate the curve or the experience Spotify? But I can buy Divine it by conscious and from what I see. It bends toward Justice. The words in Lowell Russell James Russell Lowell. Yes careless seems the Great Adventure history is pages, but record one death gravel in the darkness twist old systems and the word truth Forever on the scaffold wrong forever on the throne yet. The scaffolds waves the future and behind the dim unknown stands God within the Shadows keeping watch above his own. All who may feel that they do not have the power to do is you are as I asked you to do one thing and there is one by the name of Jesus. Who can give you the power to be able to make the right decisions? 73 Lord, Jesus. I am a sinner. Come into my house and take over my life. And make me the person you want me to be a while. We know we are experiencing great Injustice right now know all we know we can see it everyday. It seems like too many times even in the same day. Remember we must understand that the greatest Injustice that we've ever experienced or ever seen witnessed. It happened on calvary's Cross as a songwriter would say on a hill far away stood an Old Rugged Cross the emblem of suffering and shame. And I love that old cross brother dearest and best for the world of Lost Sinner's was slain. So I'll cherish The Old Rugged Cross till my trophies At Last I lay down. I will cling to The Old Rugged Cross. an exchanged someday for a crown but I want to share with you today that we talked about the oppressed need to realize that there's a lot going on with him, but we didn't understand that God is going to address the issues up for the oppressed my responsibility to make sure that we are on God's side and not the side that would be addressed when he begins to address those who are oppressed. Those people who represent helmet image and likeness just pray right now. That you would pray with me. Father in heaven, we thank you so much for your goodness to us. But thank you God and asked for God right now Lord that for those individuals on the sound of my voice. So don't know you Lord that they would come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ Our Lord. I am a synonym for give me my sin coming to my heart. Take over my life. No matter whatever that sent his father. We thank you that you were taking their sins and cast them as far as the East is from the West we pray now also a God that you was only you can father with touch the heart of our nation or country with all the protesters if I pray Lord that you become the funeral. Protest in our world and the father you would bring peace but also that you might bring Justice to those individuals with perpetrated these murder upon your people. Thank you, and we bless you and we praise you be asking in the master's name of Jesus in the people of God said amen. On this week beloved. I like for you to join us for communion. If you will like you to continue to pray for us in the meantime. Thank you. For those of you are listening to the mess. We will return to our regularly scheduled program on next week. I want the same to all of those who are part of Mount Olive Baptist Church in for those who may consider visiting here at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Are we are in the process of developing a strategy to begin the reopening are we recognize it? Cautiously understand that there are deadlines. They've been given by the state. We don't see ourselves proceeding those deadlines, but we're trying to make sure that God's people and our surrounding Community is probably taking care of as we not do something prematurely we all want to get back. We all want to start back worshiping together corporately, but the same time we recognize that there's a way to do it and God does all things in descending order. Do you even with Mount Olive continue to send your support? You know how we do it here function primarily on tithes and offering that is all so we're trusting you to trust God to believe him to bless you and to be faithful to you as he already has his already demonstrated favor to you, but that you would not consider being faithful and you get a thank you bless. You. Look forward to seeing you next week. God bless. You have a smile upon you and may He bless you richly my beloved so next week.
