HOW DO YOU WORSHIP GOD IN A CRISIS “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3 (NIV) 1. BE HONEST TO GOD ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL “Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord.” Lamentations 2:19 (NIV) “Therefore I will not keep silent; I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.!” Job 7:11(NIV) 2. PRAISE GOD INSPITE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES Job said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” Job 1:21-22 (NIV) “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NIV) Job: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Job 13:15 (KJV) 3. ASK GOD FOR STRENGHT AND HELP “Look to the Lord and His strength.” Ps. 105:4 (NIV) “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.” Job 12:13 (NIV) “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.” Psalm 3:5 (NIV) “The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” Psalm 37:39 (NIV) 4. DEPEND ON GOD AND HIS PROMISES “Therefore we do not lose heart…For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV) Jesus: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV) “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,” Hebrews 12:28 (NIV)
