Introduction: I will share an introduction to the Message.

Devoted to God.

I will give a brief explanation of the Passage
A. Main responsibility for training the next generation are parents.
B. Fuller Institute of Youth Ministry (Sticky Faith)
- Parents are most important spiritual influence in Children
- Most Parents miss opportunities to talk about faith
o 12% ongoing dialogue with mom, and 5% w/ Dad
o 9% of teenagers have regular Bible devotions

1. What holds parents back?
2. What are some ways parents can overcome these barriers?
3. What are some ways the Church can support and empower parents?
4. How can kids be disciplers in the family as well?
5. As believers in Jesus and the Gospel, how can we answer kids why questions like Deuteronomy 6:20-25?
5. What could be the equivalent modern tools of discipleship to the one’s mentioned in this passage? (ie. commands on doorposts, attached to forehead, etc.)
6. How can we disciple in a way that grows their inner devotion (Heart, Mind, Thoughts, Emotions, Will), Their life (Their Whole Being, Actions), And their Influence (Strength, and resources).

7. What are some ideas for discipleship in the family? (Here are a few. Please add to the list anything you have found has been helpful).
-Do devotions with your kids, after dinner, before bed time whenever.
-Include Hi’s, Low’s, God Sightings in your meal conversations
-During holidays, Advent Wreath, Easter Eggs and symbols
-Pray with your kids before bed, and when they get up, on the way to school, when a need arises
-Play Christian music and sing with kids in the car
-Take them to Sunday School/Youth Group
-Talk about Sunday School lessons, utilize the hand outs. - What was your key takeaway?
-Talk about the Sunday Morning Worship/message - What was your key takeaway?
-Watch Christian movies with kids, or talk about any movie as to what Christian themes and non-Christian themes are in the movie.
-Participate in the mission of the Church together - Worship, Missional Community.
-Listening to your kids as they have issues in life and coach them to work through the problem using the Gospel.
