Spiritual Gifts

Welcome back to our series on Spiritual gifts where we are taking the time to learn what it means to have each main spiritual gift and how to use it.
As we continue to dive into our gifts this week we are going to focus on the gift of Service.
Last week we looked at the gifts of Prophecy, and how with the gift of Prophecy you are able to see the the small things that are happening and put them together for the big picture and see where we are headed or where God is moving.

Service

Service is a more popular gift out of the main gifts that we are given. The thing with service is that it is easier to spot where to use your gift.
Some area of services is Greeters, ushers, safety.
The gift of service is being able to see the needs of God's people and being willing to fill those needs of the people. Service is where if there is a need in order for God to shine and to thrive in his the people with that gift stirve to fill those needs such as
Cleanup
Safety
greeters
ushers
work around the church.
The question become why is this so important?

The Why

We as a younger group of people we never really see what it is that goes beyond just showing to the church. We never see the type of work that happens to make others feel welcome.
Now we might not be able to be a teacher or a Pastor. but service is a gift that comes a little more common then some of the other do to it simple being willing. It is so important because it is how Christ treated everyone. He was always willing to serve everyone around them before himself .
Mark 6:35–44 CSB
35 When it grew late, his disciples approached him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is already late. 36 Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages to buy themselves something to eat.” 37 “You give them something to eat,” he responded. They said to him, “Should we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?” 38 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.” 39 Then he instructed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 Everyone ate and was satisfied. 43 They picked up twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and fish. 44 Now those who had eaten the loaves were five thousand men.
This starts to shine as the example of the type of service that he was willing to do for the people. he was willing to give everything that they had to make sure that the people were feed.
People with the gift of service tend to be the people that are always willing to put other before themselves no matter the situation they are always willing to see others provided for .
As a younger generation we do not tend to realize when we are one of those people. We do not tend to like to be that person but when it is our gift we have to remember that Christ commanded us to go and serve the people.
Mark 6:7–13 CSB
7 He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs and gave them authority over unclean spirits. 8 He instructed them to take nothing for the road except a staff—no bread, no traveling bag, no money in their belts, 9 but to wear sandals and not put on an extra shirt. 10 He said to them, “Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that place. 11 If any place does not welcome you or listen to you, when you leave there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” 12 So they went out and preached that people should repent. 13 They drove out many demons, anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
We see here that we were commanded to serve the people. we should be ready to serve that audience of one.

The Audience of One

Romans 12:1–2 CSB
1 Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
The questions becomes how are you using your gifts to serve Christ the one who deserves it the most?
