Song of Praise - We are still collecting water, cleaning supplies, etc. for tornado victims in south Mississippi. If you’d like to make a donation, bring them to the church and we will get them to the Rankin Baptist Assoc. building.
We are planning to have a special service on May 24 to honor our seniors. At this time we are planning a special video and time of recognition of our seniors. This will be a drive-in service, so I hope you can all be there next Sunday.
We are aware of the state beginning to ease restriction and the deacons and staff will be looking together at the best way to move forward as a church balancing as best we can safety, compliance, and wisdom. We recognize that many want to get back to normal, but at the same time we recognize the danger of this virus and our need to love and protect the most vulnerable among us. Pray for us as we seek to honor God and balance safety and fidelity.Continue to give online.

Prayer Meeting

God Is Holy - Praise - Scriptural Prayer

Read and Pray PSALM 34
Psalm 34 CSB
Concerning David, when he pretended to be insane in the presence of Abimelech, who drove him out, and he departed. I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will boast in the Lord; the humble will hear and be glad. Proclaim the Lord’s greatness with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him from all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them. Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him! You who are his holy ones, fear the Lord, for those who fear him lack nothing. Young lions lack food and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing. Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is someone who desires life, loving a long life to enjoy what is good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry for help. The face of the Lord is set against those who do what is evil, to remove all memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit. One who is righteous has many adversities, but the Lord rescues him from them all. He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil brings death to the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. The Lord redeems the life of his servants, and all who take refuge in him will not be punished.
God’s praiseworthy attributes displayed in this text:
He is our Lord (v. 1), Great (v. 3), exalted (v.3); The one who answers us (v. 4); our rescuer (v. 4); giver of Joy to those who look to him (v. 5); The one who hears the poor (v. 6); the saver of our troubles (v. 6); He encamps his angels around those who fear him; He is good (v. 8); our refuge (v. 8); Provider (v. 9-10); His eyes are on the righteous (v. 15); He rescues us in trouble (v. 17); He is near the brokenhearted (v. 18); our Redeemer (v. 22)
What is one area of your life where you are in need of God’s rescue, or where you are mourning and need God’s peace? Cry out to God now.

We are Needy - Our Response and Requests

Pray for the family of Jerry Williams as they mourn his death, but also pray for all of those who have lost loved ones during this season and who are unable to visit with family or friends or church family. Pray for those who are broken hearted.

Pray that in this day of separation that we would taste and see that the Lord is good. That we would take refuge in him in the midst of tragedy.

Pray that we will seek after the Lord in this time of trouble, that we will seek to know and please him.

Pray for our parents as they seek to be the educational and spiritual leaders in their homes. Pray that parents will see the duty that they have to disciple their kids and take it seriously in this time.

Pray for our seniors whose lives have been turned upside down.

Give us creative ways to reach out to others.
