May 14th preached on May 13th 1860 the teaching of the Holy Spirit the title being the teaching of the Holy Spirit. First text we're going to be reading today is Galatians chapter number 1 verses 10 through 17. Feel free to pause the podcast while you find that in your Bible.

In Galatians chapter number 1 verses 10 through 17 we see for do I now persuade men of God or for do I now persuade men or God or do I see please men for a fight yet? Please men. I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you Brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man for Need for I need a received it of man. Neither was I taught it but neither was I taught it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ for you have heard of my conversation and time passed in the Jews religion how that beyond measure I persecuted the Church of God and wasted it and profited in the Jews religion above many might pools. In my no Nation being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my father, but when it pleased God who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace to reveal his son me that I might preach him among the Heathen immediately. I confer not with flesh and blood neither when I up to Jerusalem to them which were Apostles before me, but I went into Arabia and returned again under the basket then after three years. I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter in the boat with him 15 days. What I did a great job by the way fantastic job couldn't ask for a better job when I did the read through the first couple of time like we practice to do the show that never went went when I went through the reading the first time I actually ended up reading the entire chapter and I actually started chapter number to cuz it's no it just kept continuing on it forgot the And I got caught up reading it again and ask for a 17 go ahead and span who's the author of this. Who is this? Who's the man that was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write this go ahead and tell me a little bit of Paul that you read from there because that chapter itself gives a lot of background about Paul especially towards the end. It's what I find most interesting, but it pleased God who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace to reveal his son of me that I might preach him among the Heathen immediately. I conferred not with flesh and blood neither when I up to Jerusalem to them which were Apostles before me, but I went into Arabia and returned again unto the mascot. So he say when he was saved he didn't go The people that you know in in his eyes for his entire life with the Learned men where it where the teachers were the masters of the text for say he went under the mascis is up to a place that you know to place where he had persecuted people and was on his way to persecute people. I think that's I think that's very telling of you know God right there and you know, we didn't him. I think that's very important. He was also charged after crisis crucifixion. To go and kill Christians go go to the first then go get rid of them. And you know, that's how during his travels and turn on the road to Damascus, you know, the story God blinded him and no one else could see and he he he talked to Paul and Paul got saved and he said, you know go to go to Damascus and you'll see again in the scales fell from his eyes when he was in The Mask has but one of the things that actually think it's interesting about Paul is he was a scholar. I believe he was a Pharisee persecute Christians and some sides.

The way I look at that is that you know while he was going through school for say how to make some type of money to get the ramen noodle at the 7-Eleven at Walmart. And then when he was on his missionary travels here has ordered back to that. Hey, I need to either I need a live and he went back to his crap. So there's there's a lot that there's a whole nother lasting on that that you know, you got to work and going over that Andy the teaching of the Holy Ghost. It's a serving that was delivered on the Sabbath morning Monday scuse me Sabbath morning, May 13th, 1869 Charles Spurgeon a Dexter Hall and Strand and this is going to be the expert. Did you have something I'm starting to think this devotion was little bit of ice to Spurgeon. We haven't seen anything disparaging so far. Well, that's because that's our text and I picked the text that had six volumes. But if you do notice the text kind of gives us context of what we talked about. So it's not like we're going word by word. This is what the Reverend Charles Spurgeon Spurgeon says. So here we go. The holy spirit's specially teaches to us Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who manifest the Savior to us in the glory of his person the complex character of his manhood it is he who tells us of the love of his heart of of the power of his arm. Of the clearness of his eye the preciousness of his blood and of the prevalence of his plea to know that Christ is my redeemer is to know more than Play-Doh could have taught me. You know that I am a member of his body of his flesh and of his bones that my name is on his breast and engraved on the palms of his hand is to know more than the universities of Oxford or Cambridge could teach to all their Scholars not at the feet of the gamma Mel. Did Paul learn to say he loves me and he gave himself for me not in The Mists of the rabbi's OR at the feet of the members of the Sanhedrin. Did Paul learn to cry what things were gained to me those I count loss for Christ. God forbid that I should Glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I know this must have been taught as a as he himself confesses not a flesh and blood but of the Holy Spirit, I need only hint that it is that it is also the spirit who teaches us our adoption indeed all the Privileges of the New Covenant beginning from regeneration running through Redemption justification, pardon sanctification adoption preservation continual safety even onto an abundant abundant entrance into the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the teaching of the Holy Spirit. And I think we're going to go ahead and go to the verse that Spurgeon was disgusting in this car in his message his sermon you go to John Chapter 14 verse number 26. It says but the comforter which is the Holy Ghost who the father will send in my name. He shall teach you all the things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever. I have said unto you in, you know, like we talked about Paul, you know, we talked about that. Paul was a An educated man who was a Scarlet is a scholar. and a but the things that Paul learned and I'm going to message him again what Spurgeon said because I think it's important that we taken to the understanding.

That okay. We talked about regeneration, but I'm going to give you this list regeneration running through Redemption justification. Pardon Santa fication adoption preservation continuous safety even unto an abundant entrance into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. OK Paul wrote them. On paper for the for the Bible fiddles the holy spirit that inspired and taught him those things to write those things down and still to this very day. We read the Holy word and still the holy spirit inside of this teaches us those things and that's where spurgeon's pulling from. This is that the holy spirit is our teacher and it's just not we sit there and we have her legs crossed and we can we touch our two fingers with our thumbs but their legs crossed Indian style and we just stay home and the Holy Spirit teaches us know it's where we have the application of reading God's word and we read it and and we meditate on it and we and we maybe do a word study on it or we may be doing that, you know a contextual study of it. And with the Holy Spirit teaches us those things. Also. Another main point is that God puts people in our lives. She's just these things. That's why we have pastors. That's why we have pastors wives That's why we have youth leaders. That's why we have these people that God has called to be in our way. But I'm telling you in our way literally and physically in our way to teach us and I'm not talking like a hindrance. I'm talking like, you know, God called them and you and you get to go there and hear them. And so we got to be open to the Holy Spirit. And when I was one of the things that I wanted to talk about today is how do we be open to the Holy Spirit? And he do you have anything that we have up on the screen right now the Holy Spirit exercise has a perfect Teaching Ministry. And I think that's it. It's an important thing when you're talkin about the the Bible and if we read our texts first Galatians chapter 1 verse 11 through 12, but I certify you Brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man for I neither received it of man. Neither was I taught was I taught it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ, OK and that's actually something interesting that you don't find in a lot of other religions. Okay is inspiration means breathed in or inspiration of God on Star is god-breathed Soviet you were it's a Paul was inspired to write books of the Bible. It was literally literally my God breathed those words into him. Okay, which also means that there's no error in it and it's also a very interesting thing about how the Bible holds up. About there being a terrorist but we've had two thousand years since approximately since these books were written and yet at the same time with thousands of fragment written in many different languages going from Hebrew to Greek to summon Latin two different other languages. They're still very similar with very few errors and that with compared to other books written at that same time. Completely unheard of okay, what does that tell us? That means that tells us that the Holy Spirit teaching is enduring Through the Ages that it's unchanging Through the Ages, which means you know, if there's something that was learned In Paul's time that can stand up and teach you something today and that me and that's where we get the point the Holy Spirit exercise has a perfect Teaching Ministry. You are all time. For all generations. And I think that's something that's very important for us to hold onto is our Bible is unchanging through the generations and still has the ability to keep perfectly in Ministry. I think that's very important. If we go to the first John chapter 2 verse number 27 says but the anointing which he have received the payment by touching you and you need not that any man teach you but as the same anointing teaches you of all things and is truth and is no lie and even as it has taught you you shall abide in him. You know, it's it's it's amazing that you know, like Illustrated in all the Bible how it's gone through the test of time and you know, and how you know, you look at man. And we're born Sinners and as time progresses, you know as for this pure and whole book, holy book has lasted throughout these years Society a man in the world has gotten worse. So it's it would strike me to the point that their recipes very simple. That is just a person the holy spirit in the word of God. and all you have to do is just take the time. Even though even as the real gets worse people people man and woman. Can anyone can go to a Walmart today and get the word of God? I mean, I'll probably get shot for this but I really don't care what version at this point. I'm just talking about just go get the Bible. You know, if the Walmart only has one version get that one it if it's a picture book get that one Bible Software, but what I'm saying is that the tools are simple. It's not like you have to go and get a wide variety of to a mechanical tools to get this done. It just need your body or heartbeat in the Bible. That's it. So that's that's amazing. Football swag forgot to as you need the Holy Spirit to do. So, if you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, you don't have that Holy Spirit. All you're doing is really bringing just a book you need you need that Holy Spirit like Spurgeon says and has the first John chapter 2 verse 27 says that Holy Spirit is what teaches us. So that's how good a pupil are you? This is very vague. It's one of those closer of the questions that Spurgeon was thrown out as a a proclamation there, but how good a pupil disciple are you? You know, really?

I am really bad. If someone tells me I have to study. I'm really bad. But if I want to study on my own, I do really good, you know. so you have to you have to look it in perspective of what do you feel is important is it you're studying the word of God for someone like a husband or wife because I seen a lot of marriages where the husband will study the word of God to impress his wife or to be like I'm just being spiritual leader. Let me tell you lady. I got this down pat or for their children. I seen a lot of men who are husbands so you don't understand the Bible says blah blah blah. You have to act this way or are you studying the word of God to be taught that you have a close relationship with Christ? So there has to be a focus and that has to come in with you because if your wife tells you you need to read the Bible if your kids so you need to read the Bible at the pastor tells you you need to read the Bible or that this podcast tells you need to read the Bible there. No, there's just that man of rebellion in you. But you need to be motivated. You need to make the change you need to have the desire and if you have something you teachable, are you are you really trying to learn something going on on 10 years now? It's it's been awhile. But when when I was teaching both before covid-19 happen, we don't go to Krabi went out when I was teaching there were kids who came in and I were talking 8 10 12, you know, whatever whatever is that wanted to learn that they really didn't want to do anything. They didn't want to learn how far the kids who won versus the kids who didn't want to wear. It was amazing that always astounded me.

Think I was 10 or 11 news right after we moved here. So I would have been 11 is I have to learn Proverbs 3 4 and 5. I had to memorize all three of those chapters 4 Patch the Pirate Club and I memorize them. I didn't memorize them cuz I wanted to memorize I memorize them cuz there was a competition I didn't learn anything about those three books of the Bible roof from when I was driving those three chapters of the Bible. I remember when I was younger used to have me read Proverbs everyday one chapter of proverbs everyday. I let me tell you I didn't learn very much fun. Cuz I didn't want to do it I go back. I read the same books now and I actually want to learn something from her and it's amazing what I was missing before simply because it was a petitioner. I didn't want to do it and I think that's something very important. Do you want to learn do you want to beat each? What are you trying to be teachable? I think that's what makes or breaks. Can walk with Christ teachable they allow themselves to be very well. Stop right there. I think that was a very good if no, we don't have any more vs. We need as many followers as possible and that one person that's listening to us. Thank you.
