Annual Meeting and       Church Birthday      Party, Jan 8th
\\
Dear Scott & Moriah,

i just want you to know how much your help offerings, your prayers, the entire church family has meant to us.
especially me, since i am bedridden.
if this last throughout my 1st trimester, i have 4 weeks left.
the thought of four more minutes of this frightens me, so i cant begin to consider 4 weeks.
although the new meds i am on help.
the nausea and migraines are the worst culprits.
i tell ya what, i am never doing this again!
yikes!
Jan told me you are burning CDs for us.
THANK YOU! missing your services is really upsetting.
and she told us you have decided to go into Ministry full time, your hearts are full of love for all of us and you want nothing to interfere with that.
how i commend you, and thank the Lord for your family in our valley.
i also pray he continues to provide through this stressful time.
(Jan said you are building a home and holding back from flying).
your decision is no small one and i want you to know how much i appreciate it though.
we just cant imagine church now without Aletheia.
with love and prayers,
kiki odell

The didache may actually be the document circulated as a result of the Jerusalem Council in 49.
*Matthew 7:28 ~~* When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as /one/ having authority, and not as their scribes.
Remember *C.S. Lewis* and wrong ideas.
2- *Fellowship ~~ koinônia*, all things in common

So He went in to stay with them.
When He had reclined /at the table/ with them, He took the bread and blessed /it,/ and breaking /it,/ He /began/ giving /it/ to them.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight….
They /began/ to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
There was no conceptual difference between The Lord's Supper and a communal meal together in the remembrance of Jesus.
4- *Prayer ~~ proseuchê*, To God, usually for *help*, what help?
Keep the Faith
*1 Peter 3:7 ~~** *You husbands in the same way, live with /your wives/ in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
*1 Thessalonians 5:17 ~~* pray without ceasing

*Acts 2:43-47 ~~* Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they /began/ selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.
And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
*Luke 12:15 ~~* Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not /even/ when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”
*1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 ~~* But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work.
Live in peace with one another.
We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances.
But examine everything /carefully/; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.
* *
*Romans 12:9-21 ~~* /Let/ love /be/ without hypocrisy.
Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
/Be/ devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly.
Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone.
Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath /of God,/ for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
“But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
*1 Corinthians 11:23-32 ~~* For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same way /He took/ the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink /it,/ in remembrance of Me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
The rest of the story….
*17-22*
But in giving this instruction, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.
For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it.
For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you.
Therefore when you meet together, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper, for in your eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry and another is drunk.
What!
Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink?
Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing?
What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you?
In this I will not praise you.
*33-34*
So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
