If last week was not enough to tell you how great, wonderful, magnificent and awesome Jesus is because through him God...
qualified us
rescued us
transferred us
forgave us
if that was not enough Paul is going to give us 3 more reasons why Jesus is the Incomparable Christ. Nothing can even touch the hem of the garment on who awesome he really is
Paul describes him first of all as

Jesus Is The All Powerful Creator

How powerful is Jesus, How powerful is God you ask?
When thinking about God’s power I want us to draw our minds back to a story in the O.T. Do you remember the time that God told Abraham and Sara that they were going to have a baby? there were old and Sara laughed. God replied and said...
Genesis 18:14 NASB95
“Is anything too difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Is anything to difficult for the Lord. The implied answer is NO. I will return and Sarah will have a son exactly as I said she would. What do we learn from this. Nothing is too difficult for the Lord
A little later in the O.T. when the Israelites begin to murmur that they are hungry Moses ask the question
Numbers 11:23 NASB95
The Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.”
Is the Lord’s power limited? The implied answer is NO? Now you shall see God says. The Lord is not limited. Many have tried to limit him The Lord is all powerful and nothing is too difficult and the Lord’s power is not limited
The psalmist says
Psalm 147:4–5 NASB95
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
He is abundant in strength. When we truly consider the Lord we are overwhelmed by His power and strength.
Think about the power that God demonstrated in the Exodus.
The Plagues
parting of the read sea
quail and manna from above
nations defeated
etc.
Paul say to the Romans
Psalm 135:5–12 NASB95
For I know that the Lord is great And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries. He smote the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast. He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants. He smote many nations And slew mighty kings, Sihon, king of the Amorites, And Og, king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan; And He gave their land as a heritage, A heritage to Israel His people.
All that God has done for Isreal fails in comparison to the power that is demonstrated in creation
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
You look at creation you can see the power of God
Job responds to his misguided friend Bildad and says
Job 26:7–14 NASB95
“He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing. “He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them. “He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it. “He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary of light and darkness. “The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke. “He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab. “By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent. “Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?”
Job is saying look how great God is, look at what he does. The pslamist says
Psalm 19:1–3 NASB95
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard.
take a look at the creation is telling you a story, a story of the glory of God. It is revealing God to you. Are you paying attention
Paul is telling us that Jesus (The preexistent Word) created all things? what did Jesus create? all things. things in heaven and things on earth, both visible and invisible? what is invisible? The air we breath the gravitational force, energy, the spiritual realm etc. thrones, dominions, rulers, authorities, etc. all things have been created through Him and For Him
John would say
John 1:3 NASB95
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
John 1:10 NASB95
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
Hebrews 11:3 NASB95
By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
Even Isaiah His name will be called “Mighty God”
Isaiah 9:6 NASB95
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
God power is seen in Jesus because he is the creator. Think of all the other ways we see the power of Jesus revealed in the pages of scripture
power of nature in the calming of the storm
power over time and distance in the healing of the nobleman's son
power over demons
Power of natural laws (walking on water)
power over physical laws (healings)
power over death (raising of Lazarus)
Leave no doubt this morning Jesus is powerful. He has all power in heaven and on earth, he is the image of God (in Jesus you see God), He is the creator of all, and all means all.
Not only do we see Jesus as the all powerful creator but we all see Him as...

He Is The Sustainer

God didn’t just create everything and then let it all fall apart and go in any direction it wanted. He is not absent from his creation.
In him all things hold together
Hebrews 1:3 NASB95
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
upholds all thing by the power of His word. I want you think about this and let this sink in.
God is holding the universe, the world, you and me together. And he is doing with the power of His Word.
All that we know and see and understand would be gone, or obliterated, it would all come crashing down? Really, Yes, I think so. Without Christ, electrons would not continue to circle nuclei, gravity would cease to work as it now does, the planets, including our earth, would fail to maintain their orbit, the systems that work here would no longer work, gases, oxygen mixtures would no longer be compatible for our continued existence. All would fall apart or blow up. If He moves away from creation, chaos would fill His place. He holds it all together.
There are many who really want to marginalize Jesus Christ. Many who say things like, “He is not important, He is irrelevant to my daily life, He means nothing to our modern world, He was simply a man, why should I care what He does or what He doesn’t do?” If we understand the Bible correctly, He is everything to this material world, for He is the one holding it together.
The amplified version says it this way, He is upholding and maintaining and propelling all things. He is the controlling cohesive force of the universe.
Anything we can think of fits within the phrase "all things"—it is all-inclusive. The galaxies, the solar systems, the sun, the moon, the earth, the tectonic plates, the weather, the climate, the plant life, the animal life, the course of human history—all of these things have been, and are being, sustained and guided by the word of His power.
We see jesus as the all powerful creator
We see jesus as the sustainer of all

He Is The Head Of The Church

If Jesus is the all powerful creator, the sustainer of all, and everything that was created was created by him and for him then it only makes since that he is the head of the body.
After all Jesus said all authority has been given to me on heaven and earth
Head - he has all rule, authority, head, chief. He is the sole controlling force of the body.
the body cannot be independent from the head. The bodies existence is dependent on the head. How when and where the body operates us up to the head
all parts of the body, all members including the leaders of the church are to submit headship of Christ. He is the One who leads and determines the teachings and practices of the church.
What he says goes. We do
The church is supposed to be subject to Christ (Eph. 5:24) Why?
He is the savior of the body Eph. 5:23
He gave Himself up for her Eph. 5:25
Matt. 16:18 he said I will build my church
He purchased it with His own blood Acts 20:28
The church owes everything to Jesus — her beginnings, her ongoing life, and her destiny
So what He is the all powerful creator, sustainer and head of the church?
If he is all powerful....
there is nothing we should fear. There is no problem to big for Him. There is nothing he can’t handle or do. there is no fear that he cannot help you overcome. there is no foe that he cannot defeat. There is no situation that he can’t get you thru.
Go to Him, pray to him, draw strength from him serve him
Since He is the sustainer of all things...
remember that your life and everyone life is in his hands. Be humble and understand your place in the universe. Give him your praise and give him your thanks for the things that we take for granted and can’t even see. every single day. don’t forget for ones second to give him thanks
serve him.
Since He is the head of the church...
listen and obey him. When he says its wrong then it wrong. Worship him the way he insist to be worshipped. When Follow his lead. honor Him and give the place that he deserves in your life.
He has to be first in your life. Put everything and I mean everything behind Christ. Why? because He is the Incomparable Christ!
