The 10 Must Haves In Marriage

Thou Shalt have Relationship
MARK 12:29-30 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord thy God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
This is love to God. Keeping God’s commandments is more than merely obeying God’s commandments. The word translated “keep,” expresses watchful care. It means to “attend to carefully,” “take care of,” “guard.”
So also the Old Testament word.
Deut. 10:12—“And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul.”
2 Love to God is manifested by serving Him with all the heart and all the soul.
Paul in writing to the Thessalonians speaks of their “labor of love.” The word for “labor” denotes “intense” labor, “toil.” The one who loves God will labor intensely for Him.
2. Thou Shalt LOVE LIFE
UNDERSTANDING YOUR VALUE & YOUR NEIGHBORS
(BEING BROUGHT WITH A PRICE)
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 TPT
19 Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary. 20 You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!
3. Thou Shalt Love Letting Go!!
Philippians 3:13 TPT
13 I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
4. Thou Shalt Be Disciplined aka Waiting
waiting |ˈwātiNG|
1 the action of staying where one is or delaying action until a particular time or until something else happens.
Psalm 25:21 KJV 1900
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; For I wait on thee.
Habakkuk 2:3 KJV 1900
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, But at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
5. Thou Shalt be Prepared
make (something) ready for use or consideration: created in advance; preplanned: make (someone) ready or able to do or deal with something.
6. Thou Shalt Serve
Genesis 24:46 KJV 1900
46 And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.
7. Thou Shalt Honor the vow
“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. Do not let your mouth lead you into sin”Ecclesiastes 5:4–5.
A promise is a promise, and there is no loophole in God’s eyes to allow a person to renege on an oath.
James 5:12 But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
Jesus taught concerning vows, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.’ But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No ,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one”Matthew 5:33–37
In a court of law, those called to the witness stand traditionally place a hand on a Bible and swear before God to tell the truth. In such an instance, the holiness and power of God are called as a witness to the proceedings.
8. Thou Shalt Honor the ring
Biblical use of jewelry as symbol of devotion
There are several Bible passages that show jewelry being used to symbolize a special bond between people.
In Genesis 24 Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for his son Isaac. The servant found Rebekah, and he gave her a nose ring and bracelets, signifying that she was the woman he believed God had provided for Isaac (see verses 22, 30, 47).
Abraham’s servant said, “So I put the nose ring on her nose and the bracelets on her wrists. And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son” (Genesis 24:47-48).
God uses jewelry to adorn His symbolic wife—Israel
Ezekiel 16:8-12: “‘When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,’ says the Lord GOD.’ …
“‘I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your wrists, and a chain on your neck. And I put a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.’”
God used jewelry to represent His love, devotion and commitment.
9. Thou Shalt honor your Spouse
1 Peter 3:1-6 English Standard Version (ESV)
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
1 Peter 3:7 ESV
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Proverbs 29:23 ESV
One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.
Matthew 7:12 ESV
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
10. Thou Shalt honor your Home
Titus 2
But as for you, teach what accords with sound[a] doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. Bondservants[b] are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Proverbs 31:10-31
10 [d] An excellent wife who can find?     She is far more precious than jewels. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,     and he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good, and not harm,     all the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax,     and works with willing hands. 14 She is like the ships of the merchant;     she brings her food from afar. 15 She rises while it is yet night     and provides food for her household     and portions for her maidens. 16 She considers a field and buys it;     with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She dresses herself[e] with strength     and makes her arms strong. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.     Her lamp does not go out at night. 19 She puts her hands to the distaff,     and her hands hold the spindle. 20 She opens her hand to the poor     and reaches out her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,     for all her household are clothed in scarlet.[f] 22 She makes bed coverings for herself;     her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates     when he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them;     she delivers sashes to the merchant. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,     and she laughs at the time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,     and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household     and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;     her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women have done excellently,     but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,     but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,     and let her works praise her in the gates.
