4 As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by God—
5 you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
One of the things that come to mind when reading this passage is how blessed we are to have a God that loves us enough to have a plan for us. We see that God is in control and know that he is in charge of the life that he has chosen for us if we chose to follow him.
As we start our series on the Spiritual Gift, We are going to look at the reason he give us the gifts he does and what we are suppose to do with those gifts. So let’s dive in to this passage and see what it is Peter is trying to talk about.
The first step is know That there is a God that has a plan for you.

As we look back to the passage in verse 4 I want us to focus on the part of the passage here where it says we are rejected by the people but chosen and honored by God.
Before we look to see what the plan is for us to serve in Gods Kingdom we have to strive to be apart of the Group that knows God and will endlessly serve him.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it.
We see here that it tell us to deny our selves and be willing to carry that Cross. If you want to be chosen by God you have to be willing to carry that cross.
Only you know what that cross looks like what it feels like the weight of it. Your Cross come in many different ways.

Anger
selfishness
Doubt
Depression
But when we take up that cross and are willing to carry daily and are willing to say that today I am going to let God have today and not let this sin overcome me. That is when we reach that level of Honor we have for ourselves to honor God.
After we are at this point we then can turn to the second part of Peters passage and see that we are made for Priesthood

I know what you are thinking we are all suppose to be priest no that is know what this is saying. Back in those time it was that you practice priesthood you had to follow the rules of priesthood and had to be chosen to do it by priest.
That is not what is happening in this passage. this is where we come in to our spiritual gift and why it is so important to take know what your gift is you can strengthen you gifts to serve God.

As we continue this series we will be going over each of them. It starts with know your plan by God and having the willingness to know that God is in control.
