Introduction
Every one of us could agree that life has been more difficult during the last several weeks. All of us have faced restrictions that have kept us from doing things that we would like to do.
When circumstances are difficult it is easy to begin to question God. We think to ourselves “Where is God?”, “Why is God letting this happen?”, or “Why do I have to deal with this situation?”
We may even begin to question the goodness of God if not outright at least inwardly.
There are times when we simply need to be reminded of just how good God really is to you and me.
In Psalm 103, David recounts the blessings and goodness that God has shown him and you and I should take the time to do the same.
God has been good to all of us no matter the trials and difficulties we have faced or are facing today.
We need only to remember His:

Forgiveness (Vs. 3a)

God has released, pardoned, and removed the guilt associated with our sin!
God has forgiven “ALL” of our iniquities.
Psalm 103:12- he has removed our transgressions as far as the east is from the west.
God is still good because you and I have been forgiven! He has forgiven the sins of our past, He continues to forgive the sins of the present(I John 1:9), and He will yet forgive the sins we commit in the future!
This forgiveness is freely offered to all who will believe on Jesus Christ. Acts 13:37-39- through this man (Jesus) is preached forgiveness of sins.
The law condemned us but God extends to us forgiveness by Jesus Christ.

Healing (Vs. 3b)

We know that God also has the power to heal and does heal and ultimately will heal all of our illness.
The sickness that David is speaking of may be of a spiritual nature as Jesus himself spoke of when he made the statement- Luke 5:31-32 - sick need physician
Jesus Christ is able to heal physically as well as spiritually as we see evidenced in the preceding events in Luke 5:17-25- the most important healing is spiritual.
You may say that God has not healed all your illness and that may be true in the present but that does not mean that God is unable to heal.
In fact we know that every one of us will one day be ultimately and absolutely healed when our body is resurrected in a glorified state to live for all eternity.( Romans 8:18-23- we have the promise that one day our body will be redeemed and we will know what it is to be totally free from sickness and disease.
This is just another reminder of the goodness of God!

Redemption (Vs. 4a)

Redeem- literally means to be delivered from danger by being purchased.
God has not only forgiven us, He has redeemed us to Himself! God has purchased us at unbelievable personal cost and sacrifice.
The cost of our redemption was His only begotten son. I Peter 1:18-19- redeemed with precious blood of Christ
You and I were headed for destruction, but God has redeemed us and has given us new life in Him!
Psalm 103:10-11- aren’t you glad that God has not dealt with us according to our iniquities. We should be eternally grateful for the goodness of God that causes Him to extend mercy to poor sinner such as you and I!

Love and Compassion (Vs. 4b)

It is enough that God offers us forgiveness, that he heals all our diseases, and that he has redeemed us to himself, yet above all of this he loves us and has compassion towards us.
We are so unworthy of His love and care and yet David writes that He “crowneth” (surrounds/completely envelops) us with His love!
“The one who knows me best, loves me most” What an amazing thought that God, who knows every secret sin, every wicked imagination, loves us with a steadfast and unchangeable love!
The love that He has for us is revealed in the tender compassion that He shows towards us. He not only chooses to redeem us but He has chosen to develop a relationship with us! You and I have the privilege of calling Him our “father”! (Psalm 103:13-14)
I John 3:1- He cares deeply for us and calls us His children, how could we ever question His goodness?

Provision (Vs. 5a)

As though all of this were not enough, God also blesses us with so many “good things” that enrich our lives and satisfy our souls!
God has given us so many rich blessings to enjoy! He has given us family, friends, freedom, financial blessings, health and strength, beautiful homes, cars to drive, and so much more.
You and I are especially blessed to have been born in America where our quality and standard of living is higher than most of the rest of the world.
It is God’s desire to give to us an abundant life filled with joy as Jesus Christ Himself proclaimed John 10:10 & John 15:11
God is not trying to make us miserable or to harm us. His desire is to give us life more abundant and a life that is filled with joy!
Conlcusion
There is no question as to God’s goodness even as we deal with the impact of the present crisis.
In light of God’s goodness what should be our response? Psalm 103:1-2 & Psalm 103:20-22
We ought to respond as David did with excited worship as we “bless the Lord”
David desired to engage his entire being in praising the Lord and we should too!
It was his desire that everyone everywhere would cry out in praise to God and he was determined to lead the way!
