HOOK

Previously on “The Message”— Just after Jesus asked the Samaritan woman to call her husband, the disciples came back after buying food downtown
In a hurry as she was, she even left her jar behind when she went back to her town to tell the people about Jesus— the man who told her everything she ever did.
The villages came out of their town to make their way toward Jesus— while all these was taking, there was conversation between Jesus and his disciples about food— Jesus used that conversation to teach his disciples, using field ripe for harvest as his illustration --
Jesus used sowing and reaping as metaphor to harvesting souls for the Christ!— and from this section of the story, we learned a couple of things:
I will tell people about Jesus [how will you tell about him?]— that’s a simple question but a potential ground to freeze Christians— and not able to tell others about Jesus simply because they don’t know HOW!— In moment you will see a basic and very natural way of sharing Jesus
I will pray and look for opportunities to bring opportunities to Christ— very often Christians overlook this important part of sharing Jesus— they overlook the time for prayer and search for opportunities
Let’s pick it up from verse 39 and all the way to the end of this story

BOOK

John 4:39–42 NIV
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

LOOK

BECAUSE OF THE WOMAN’S TESTIMONY
The natural and simple way to share Jesus is to share what He has done for you and that is called— testimony
You don’t have to be so well verse in the Bible— you don’t wait until you become a Bible genius just to share Jesus— Just share your testimony!
Your witness is incontestable!— no one can dispute your story! — But Paul said to the Christians in Rome
Romans 10:17 NIV
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
HE TOLD ME EVERYTHING I EVER DID
Jesus knows everything about me-- there are occasion when you are seated on a pew and listening to the Pastor and then you felt that he was talking to you directly-- that's the Lord himself using voice of the preacher
BECAUSE OF HIS WORDS MANY MORE BECAME BELIEVERS
It is not your words, certainly not anybody else’s words that saves but HIS!

TOOK

I MUST SHARE MY LIFE TESTIMONY
After a demon-possessed man was restored by Jesus— he wanted to come along with the Lord— but Jesus said to him in Mark 5:19
Mark 5:19 MSG
19 but he wouldn’t let him. Jesus said, “Go home to your own people. Tell them your story—what the Master did, how he had mercy on you.”
IT IS GOD’S WORDS THAT SAVES, NOT MINE!
Christians, specially preachers like me are tempted to believe that their eloquence, their expressiveness— their articulation— their persuasiveness— their wit is what brings people to salvation! — they help! but they’re not it!—
1 Corinthians 15:2 NIV
2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
Romans 1:16 NIV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
