Tuesday, April 21 Opening Sentences Lord, open my lips And my mouth shall proclaim your praise   Memory Verse 1 Peter 2:5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Psalm 146 Opening Prayer Jesus, my Savior, let your love rule my heart without a rival. Let it dispose all my thoughts, words and works; for then only can I fulfill my duty and your command of loving you with all my heart and mind and soul and strength. Amen. Praise to the Lord of my salvation, Salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen.   Summary of the Law Our Lord Jesus said: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Prayer for the Reading of Scripture God of mercy, grant that the Word you speak this day may take root in my heart and bear fruit to your honor and glory, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Especially I thank you for: The love of my family… The affection of my friends… Strength and abilities to serve your purpose today… The community in which I live… Opportunities to give as I have received…   God of grace, I offer my prayers for the needs of others and commit myself to serve them even as I have been served in Jesus Christ. Especially I pray for: Those closest to me, family, friends and neighbors… Refugees and homeless men, women and children… The outcast and the persecuted… Those from whom I am estranged… The church in Africa… Missionaries we support in Africa: Dan and Heather Galat - Tenwek Hospital – Kenya Dan Jacob – Kenya Andy and Stephanie Abrams – Kenya Kenneth and Delight Hopson - Uganda   Lord, I want more than anything to have a close walk with You. Help me not to forfeit that wonderful intimacy by being drawn toward the distractions of this world. Enable me to hear Your voice calling me so that I will answer without even a moment’s delay. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
