He’s Got His Eye on Me

Psalm 32:8–9 AV
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
Psalm 32:8 AMP
8 I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Ps 32:8 has brought a lot of joy to my heart this week.
Ps 32:8 has brought a lot of confidence to me walk.
Look at that person sitting next to you right now and say, “God has His eye on you”.
Promises to a people of promise!
God said of Israel:
Psalm 95:10 NKJV
10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’

Think of what God was saying:

"After 40 long years of receiving My tender guidance and miraculous deliverances,
...they still don’t have the slightest idea of the way I work!
They never even try to understand My principles of guidance.
To them My leadings are just a series of unrelated blessings,
nothing more than open doors and escapes from crises."
Personally, I am tired of being a mule-headed Christian with no understanding of the principles of God’s leading!
Beloved, don’t make the Lord be stern with you in His leadings.
God wants a people who know Him well enough to move at his slightest urging!

Dad can guide with His eye.

It’s not a negative thing.

The Hebrew “(with) my eye upon you” carries the idea of concern and care, not of a veiled threat, as the English phrase might be understood. The expression with my eye upon you may sometimes be rendered “taking care of you” or “watching out for your safety.”

Verse 8 is a case of stair-step parallelism. Each succeeding line adds something to the first. Furthermore, the verse can be analyzed as a tricolon, that is, having three lines: I will instruct you / and teach you the way you should go/ I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Ever have somebody give you a wink while playing a game.
I will Guide you = I will make it flow as water.
Numbers 10:29–31 NKJV
29 Now Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.” 30 And he said to him, “I will not go, but I will depart to my own land and to my relatives.” 31 So Moses said, “Please do not leave, inasmuch as you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.
Deuteronomy 11:12 NKJV
12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.
Psalm 34:15 NKJV
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.

You’ll never go anywhere that God hasn’t already been.

He’s already been to school.
He’s already been to college.
He’s already been to the work

God is in your future.

By the time you get there He’s already seen it.

Nothing ever takes God by surprise:

That’s why he’s not on heart medicine.
That’s why he’s not on blood pressure medicine.
That’s why he’s not on prozac due to depression.

Living from crisis to crisis

God has two goals:
To gain our confidence.
To be exalted and honored before the wicked.
God wants to Provide a Stage to the World:
-- To Bring Down the Enemy for All to See!--
I want the Holy Spirit to show you a truth so powerful you will never again fear the activity of Satan in your trials.
It is simply this:
The enemy is on your heels because the Lord is leading him into a trap,
A destructive showdown in which he will be defeated soundly.
You see, God is dealing not just with us but also with our enemy!
How would you react to such guidance?
Don’t Become as a Mule, Allowing Your Circumstances -- and Not the Lord -- to Rule You!
If You Keep Going on With God, God Will Credit It to You As Faith!
Even though the Israelites were afraid, their onward march was credited to them as faith:
Hebrews 11:29 NKJV
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
What was the outcome of their obedience to God’s great leading?
They received a vision of God’s power over all the enemies that would come against them:
Exodus 14:31 NKJV
31 Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.
It is tragic that so many Christians today are easily defeated when they come to a dead-end crisis.
They think that when everything goes wrong, with no deliverance in sight, God has abandoned them.
They simply lie down to die, allowing the devil’s chariots to roll over them.
