\\ Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-20

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,  20 for which I am an ambassador in chains.
Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

This is standard issue for the Christian

ð     Belongs to God.
So it is with God’s blessing and gifts to his children.
They are given or entrusted to us, ours in one sense, His is a greater sense.
What we receive from God must be consecrated to Him.
It must be available to Him.
Before God I am righteous.
I am given a breastplate of righteousness as a mark of identification and protection by God.
I have been declared so.
It may be difficult for some of you to say “I am righteous” because it may seem to be boasting and yet it is true and we need to learn to give testimony to this.
Most of us hate it when the guilty man goes free.
(Ill.
Stabbing – defense offered)

We can’t stand to see the guilty one escape unpunished.
But it happens doesn’t it?
The guilty man goes free never to be tried again for the offense with which he~/she was charged.
They are freed by legal maneuvering.
By technicalities or loopholes in the law.
By the mishandling of evidence

By violation of the rights of the accused.
And yet, I am declared righteous by God.

“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
(2 Tim.
4:8) [2]

You know what that means?
It means that the guilty man goes free.
I have been given something from God that will guard me against the accusations of the devil.
When the devil tells the true story of my offenses, I can with confidence, say that I have been given the gift of righteousness,  I have been forgiven.
Not by legal maneuvering.
Not by technicalities or loopholes in the law.
Not by the mishandling of evidence

Not because my rights have been violated.
Once more, thank God, the guilty man has gone free because someone else has taken his~/her punishment and that freed person can never again be tried.
/Romans 8   /Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, a  2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, b God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.
c And so he condemned sin in sinful man, d  4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

It has been combat-tested and tried.
Isaiah 59

The LORD looked and was displeased
that there was no justice.
16 He saw that there was no one,
he was appalled that there was no one to intervene;

and his own righteousness sustained him.
17 He put on righteousness as his breastplate,
and the helmet of salvation on his head;
he put on the garments of vengeance
and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
18 According to what they have done,
so will he repay
wrath to his enemies
and retribution to his foes;
he will repay the islands their due.

and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory.
For he will come like a pent-up flood
that the breath of the LORD drives along.
