DON’T FORGET TO UNMUTE
Yesterday during the second part of the story the Jesus Christ with the Samaritan woman we learned a few things...
Jesus modeled for us that our love must be beyond boundaries— should be beyond culture, tradition, race or even religion
From His conversation with the Samaritan woman— we must learn not to take literally, what was said spiritually— Jesus told her about the “living water” that represents the Holy Spirit— and yet she still thought of water that literally quench her thirst
Today we will continue with this story— but before we do that— let me say a short pray for us all— PRAY
Lord I pray that you continually bless me with profound word. Do not allow me run out of things to say. I know that I won't run dry because you are my source of living water-- the Holy Spirit will sustain me with enormous and self-replenishing wisdom-- all extracted from your Word of unfailing promises and, Word of instructions and guidance towards a life that is glorifying to Your holy name. Bless my brethren and friends who joins me every weekday mornings committed to dedicating our day to you by starting it with a prayer responded to by your Word. Lord forgive us-- convict our hearts of things that are not pleasurable to you. Protect us from this virus and draw us closer to your son Jesus. This we pray in your holy name.... Amen!
Do you guys know that difference between Bible Study and Daily Devotion? — basic differences between these two ways to approach the word of God is that— in a Bible Study, you exegete the passage that you’re studying— you do a deep study of the words, people, places, or things
However, in devotional study— you should remain focused on how you will apply a passage to your life
What we do every weekday morning is a conventional approach— it’s combination of Bible Study and Daily Devotion— I am developing an approach where I can impart to you “information” about the passage [individual words, people, places, or things]— I then help you on the “interpretation” that will yield us some life “application”— write it down— INFORMATION— INTERPRETATION— APPLICATION! That’s what I always ask God for in a prayer— to freshly reveal to us these things
These are some of my guiding questions whenever I approach the Word:
What does this passage show about the character of God?
Does this passage command anything?— is this command only for the original hearers, or for me as well?
Does this passage promise anything? Is this promise only for the original hearers, or for me as well?
Does this provide you with good example to follow or a bad example to avoid?
Does this passage call to mind sins to confess and repent of?
How does this passage challenge you?
How does this passage encourage you?
Let’s begin where we left off yesterday— we’ll pick it up from verse 16

16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” 17 “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” 19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” 25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”
Jesus started telling her about her life and she avoided by shifting the conversation to a totally different topic-- worship

YOU WILL WORSHIP THE FATHER NEITHER ON THIS MOUNTAIN NOR IN JERUSALEM
V. 21
It is not where you worship, it is who you worship-
Jesus said in the following verse— V. 22
YOU SAMARITANS WORSHIP WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW
knowing the God you worship is very imperative
WORSHIPPERS MUST WORSHIP IN THE SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
True worship is not just in Spirit, but also in truth-- heart and head-- experiential and doctrinal
Believing is one thing, but knowing is another thing
Apart from believing-- we must know the God that we worship
I KNOW THE MESSIAH IS COMING
A lot of people knows and believes that the Messiah is coming-- but they don't know who it was

I CAN WORSHIP GOD WHEREVER
Look with me in 1 Peter 2:5
This pandemic is a realization of this truth— we can worship in our homes
There’s an image going around where Satan said to God, “with Covid-19, I closed your churches”— God’s response was, “on the contrary, I just opened one in every home” [show image]
I WILL NOT JUST KEEP ON BELIEVING HIM, I WILL KEEP ON KNOWING HIM

Being here in this daily devotional and study of the Word is an indication of your eagerness to know Jesus more and more, and to be like Him more and more
I WILL WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
The very first of God for our lives is to worship him— and Jesus very clearly said to worship the Father in Spirit and in truth— what does that mean?
It means— we worship God emotionally and doctrinally— not just experiential worship, but also doctrinal worship— heart and head
Let’s go to Matthew 22:37
