Sermon Tone Analysis

*Man* is a *3* *part being*.

He *lives* in a *body* (physical).

He *has* a *soul*, which is his *mind*, will , emotions, & his intellect.

& he *is* a *spirit*, which is t inner man or as Peter puts it "*T hidden man of t heart*."

*I*.

*EPH 3:16*

              *A*.

*God's desire* is for *us* to be *strengthened* w~/ *might*.

*1*.

That word "*Might*" comes from t Greek word "*Dunamis*" specially, miraculous power ability, abundance, might(-ily, -y,), (power, strength, mighty (wonderful) work.

*2*.

T *only way* for us to be *strengthened w~/* this *power* is *by* *His Spirit*.

*a*.

It's *God's desire* to *strengthen our spirit w~/ His Spirit*.

*II*.

What are *some* of t *causes of Heaviness* in t human spirit, or for our *spirit* to be *Weakened*?

*A*.

*JOB 3:25*

                        *1*.*Fear* is *1* of those things that will *bring* that *heaviness*.

*a*.

(*2TIM 1:7*) Says, "*For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind*."

*2*.

When we're in fear, *we're wavering* w~/ t promises of God.

                                  *a*.

(*JAMES 1:6-7*) Says, "*But let him* *ask in faith, nothing wavering*.

*For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord*."

*b*.

*If* we are *wavering* w~/ t promises of God then we're *not* going to *receive* His *Peace*, His *Joy*, or *any* of *His promises* *& we'll fell that heaviness*.

*B*.

Look w~/ me over to *PRO 18:14*

                        *1*.

*What* are some *things* that will *cause a wounded spirit*?

*a*.

*Rejection*.

Weather it's *really happening* *or* they *just think* that they are rejected.

Either way it will *still bring* that *heaviness* in t heart.

*2*.

*Strife* is another area that *will wound someone's spirit*.

T Bible calls it *sin*.

*3*.

*Hurt feelings* can cause someone to *fell wounded*.

& *so on*.

*C*.In (*MATT 4:4*) it says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

                        *1*.

If we're *not* being *properly fed spiritual*, there's a *heaviness* that goes w~/ it; a *weakness*.

*D*.

*Unforgiveness* is *another area*.

*1*.

(*MARK 11:25-26*) Says, "And when ye stand praying, *forgive*, if ye have ought against any: that your *Father* also which is in heaven may *forgive you* your trespasses.

But if ye do *not forgive*, *neither* will your *Father* which is in heaven *forgive* your trespasses."

*a*.

*Unforgiveness* is going to *hinder* you from *getting into t presence of God*.

*b*.

When you're *not* getting *in* t *presence of God* you're going to *sense* that *heaviness*.

*E*.

*PRO 12:25*

                        *1*.

If we look at this *V* from a *different angel*, it's telling us that "*Bitter Words*" (t *opposite* of *good words*) will *cause* someone to be *sadden*.

*a*.

*Criticism*  (Like *2 edged sword*) (*EPH 4:15*) Says "Speaking t truth in love."

*When you* do *tell someone* t *truth* about them selves, *tell it* to them *in LOVE*.

*III*.

Well, *what's* *t cure* *for heaviness* in t inner man?

              *A*.

According to this *V* in (*PRO 12:25*) *instead of bitter words* *give* a "*Good Word*."

(Good words are *uplifting*).

*B*.

I think t *most important* is to *go to Jesus*; To get *in His presence*.

*1*.

*PSA 147:2-3*

                                  *a*.

That's referring to Jesus.

*2*.

(*LUKE 4:18*) Says, "The Spirit of the Lord {is} upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to *heal the brokenhearted*, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."

*a*.

*Jesus **heals t brokenhearted*, *binds up there wounds* & *builds up there inner man*.

*b*.

If you *feel cast down* you need to *go to Jesus* who will *build you* back *up & heal* *your broken heart*.

*C*.

*Another cure (heaviness* - inner man) is to *cast all your cares upon Him*.

*1*.

*PHIL 4:6*

                        *2*.

(*1PET 5:7*) Says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

*a*.

According to these *2 Vs*, When you're *feeling* that *heaviness*, *go to t Lord in prayer*, *letting* your *request* be *known* to him, *&* then *leaving* those heavy weights *there* w~/ Him.

              *D*.

Then, of course, *Praise* is *one* of t *best cures* for heaviness.

*1*.

Turn to *ISAIAH 61:3*

                                  *a*.

T *NIV* translation says, "A garment of praise instead of a *spirit of despair*."

*b*.

*Many* today are *in despair*, but God will give us t Garment of Praise, but we have to enter into it.

*i*.

As we do t *heaviness & despair will leave*.

*IV*.

*PRO 4:23*

              *A*.

T word "*Keep*" in t *1st* *past* of this *V* means "*To Guard*"

                        *1*.

In other words He's saying "*To Guard your heart with all diligence*."

*2*.

*Guard* your self *from falling into* that *spirit of heaviness*.

*But how*?

              *B*.

Look at *1THES 5:8*

                        *1*.

In this *V* he tells us to *put on t breastplate of Faith*.

*2*.

We are to *walk by faith*.

Faith in God & all of His promises.

*a*.

There's *4 references* in t KJV that says, "*T Just shall live by Faith*."

(*HAB 2:4; ROM 1:7; GAL 3:11; & HEB 10:38*)

                                  *b*.

(*2COR 5:7*) Says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
