Soaring with Eagles#2

In this lesson, you will learn how to wait on the Lord and some of the benefits of waiting on Him. When you wait upon the Lord in prayer, your spirit will become sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Psalms 23 says, “He leads us beside the still waters and he restores our souls.” To “restore” means "to strengthen, to rekindle, to renew, and to revitalize."

I) How to wait on the Lord. Psalms 46:10.

A) "Selah" is found 77 times in scripture, mostly in Psalms and proverbs.

1) "Selah" time is reflective time.

2) It is a time to pause and think about something.

3) It is a time alone for reflection on the great truths of God, waiting upon Him and drawing upon his strength.

II) Some benefits of waiting on the Lord:

A) You will be strengthened. Isaiah 40:29, 31

B) You will be bold to witness.

C) You will have the wisdom you need.

D) You will have direction for your life.

III) Scriptural examples of "waiting on the Lord":

A) Mark 1:35. "In the morning (Jesus), rising up a great while before day... Pray".

B) Mark 6:31. Jesus said to his disciples, "Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest awhile..."

C) Matthew 26:41. "Watch and pray, that she entering not into temptation".

D) Acts 3:1. "Peter and John went up together into the temple at the our of prayer area..."
