The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus was for you. (2CO 5:21)For He hath made Him {to be} sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Then Jesus said in (JOH 11:25)I am the resurrection, and the life.”

     I. The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus is a fact.

              A. The Crucifixion was prophesied in (Isa 53 and in PSA 22).

                        1. And the Resurrection is prophesied in (Psa 16:10) Which says, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.”

                                  a. And in (ISA 26:19) it says, “Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing.”

                                  b. Even Jesus told of His Crucifixion and Resurrection in (MAT 20:17-19)

              B. Another important fact about the resurrection of Jesus is that His tomb was empty.

                        a. In every other religion, their leader, or prophet is dead, But Jesus is alive.

              C. There are even eye witnesses of Jesus’ Resurrection.

                        1. We already read (MATT 28) where Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene.

                        2. In (LUKE 24, JOHN 21, and in MARK 16) Jesus appeared to His disciples.

                        3. In (LUKE 24:13) Jesus appeared unto 2 men.

                        4. In (1CO 15:6) Jesus appeared unto over 500.

                                  a. It is an important fact that Jesus is raised from the dead.

                                  b. All of our Christianity hinges on that fact.

                                           i. 1COR 15:17

                                           ii. ROM 4:23-25

                                  c. (ROM 10:9) Says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

                                           i. There are even ministers that were asked do you believe in the virgin birth and in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?

ii. Many of them said NO.

iii. You can’t even be saved without believing that Jesus is raised from the dead.

II. But what does it mean to us?

              A. COL 2:10-14

                        1. Through Jesus resurrection the greatest problem in our life is solved and that is the sin problem.

                        2. HEB 2:14

                                  a. It’s because of Jesus’ Resurrection that we don’t have to face Hell, where it’s torture and torment.

                                  b. But we who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, will be ruling and reigning as kings.

                                           i. (REV 1:18) Says, “I {am} he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (KJV)

ii. No longer do we have to fear going to hell; no longer do we have to fear death. Jesus has already paid the price for our sin. He already went into Hell for us.

iii. ACTS 2:24-32 Jesus paid the price so that we don’t have to.

III. But I’ve got some more good news for you. Not only did Jesus die and was resurrected so that we could go to heaven, but He came, died, and was resurrected so that we could have the fullest of life now.

              A. JOHN 10:10

                        1. Who is the thief? (The Devil) Some people don’t think there is a Devil, but they believe there is a God and they believe in His Son.

                                  a. We know those things are so because we have the Word of God.

                                  b. It’s the same Word of God that tells us there is a Devil.

                                  c. We can’t come up with our own ideas about what the Bible says. If we do that we are coming up with another man made tradition. We’ve got to stick with what the Bible says.

                        2. Back to JOHN 10:10 (read)

                                  a. Jesus said that the reason why He came and went through all He did was to give us life and to give it to us more abundantly.

              B. 1COR 15:57

                        1. You have the Victory through Jesus.

                                  a. The victory has been given to you.

                                  b. That means you have victory in every area of your life.

                                  c. The moment you received Jesus, you also received absolute victory.

                        2. The Word of God is filled with promises guaranteeing God’s help and provision for us.

                                  a. As you begin to fill your mind and heart with these promises, you will rise up and walk in the realm of victory.

                                  b. (JOH 8:32) Says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (KJV)

                                           i. God’s Word is the Truth and The knowledge of the Truth will set you free from the limitations of the old life.

ii. Your victory is not dependent upon educational degrees, bible school diplomas, or even how long you’ve been a Born-again Christian.

                                  c. Victory is yours because of what Jesus has done. He completed the work of redemption through His Suffering, His death, and His resurrection.

                                           i. Remember what Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.”

IV. Turn with me to one more scripture 2CO 2:14.

              A. The word triumph” in this V means to conquer, to give victory, cause to triumph (over).”

                        1. In other wordsChrist always causes us to have victory.”

                        2. As you put your faith and trust in the Lord, He will always cause you to triumph.

                                  a. Our victory in life and the assurance of salvation we have is ALL THROUGH HIS FINISHED WORK. HE’S ALIVE and alive for evermore.
